Honestly the resource system made sense back in alpha1 when we could fight over control of them but it just doesn’t work well in this iteration. They should make the same change that they did with chest back in the day and make the nodes unique to the player, just adjust the respawns accordingly.

This is correct, the logic is solid. This game has not made money, given how long it was in production.

The logic is sound, and you are bitter. Perhaps enroll in an introductory logic course before you try to coin new definitions for a preexisting concept.

If they had merged two low population servers (people who never used their tokens that were freely given by AGS), you’d probably hear complaints about how it still isn’t good enough. They merge some medium servers and that’s a problem? I swear, some of the hate in the forums is unhealthy and delusional.

One of my toons is on a high pop server… maxes at around 1200 people playing, but averages at around 700-800 people playing.

I find it OK when others are mining/farming the same nodes as me… makes it interesting.

On the other hand, my toon on a dead server can farm as much as she wishes… but it is boring… no one to compete with for the same node. New World is a SAD place when there are no other players…

Really helps in higher-level areas to avoid so many mobs with nothing better to do than be annoying or get trained on you by some rando, also with nothing better to do than be annoying. I’ll give up a node or two for a little help controlling the monsters.

1400 active?

Thats a healthy number. My server, Oceana, was about 1600 peak when I first transferred. Fun as shit… loved it. Now it leaks 1000-1100ish…not as fun.

1400 is a healthy number. Get over it.

Flag up and fight over resources. Makes farming funner.

If that’s all you have to complain about, then consider it a win.

I’d rather see 1500 after mergers than just 200-500… Ending up with low pops after mergers defeats the objective of mergers doesn’t it.

as with all things in this game its balanced around a “always on pvp” situation. it would be fine if you could just gank everyone out of your farming route. now we have 5 ppl circling the same route and essentially everyone wasting their time.

could you explain how the new patch introduces more legendary materials? somehow I missed that info, unless you mean the 250 raw resources turned into a legendary materiel? Doesn’t really change the fact that almost every Tier5 resource is farmed constantly on high pop servers, it’s just a extreme waste of time to farm themself better to buy them, but then the prices gets influenced by company’s getting millions in taxes

All the aptitude caches will give 2-4 legendary materials and the worst part is that all the gathering bots will be able to spam aptitude caches indefinitely.

doesnt really solve anything, you’d have the same situation with pvp. The problem is the demand is greater than the supply.

many of the competitors are likely from the same faction. Once in awhile a fight breaks out. All it really changes is how you pass the time, not whether you can get resources or not. And while you are fighting people will be trying to hit the node.

thats not going to create more resources, or allow people who want the resource to get it.

well there is more to it ofc. first of all the world is WAY too small for an MMO. therefor ressources are limited. however if it was full pvp then the strongest players would get enough ressources. just all the bad/average players would struggle but thats kinda how its supposed to be in a competitive environment.

and ye the faction thing is an issue but ive always said you cant have factions in an open world game if you cant kill your own faction and become a criminal. that just needs to be a choice. then you can decide if you wanna share the spot with your faction bro or if you wanna kill him to get the spot for yourself but suffer the consequences of going red.

Oceana’s pop is perfect how it is. Plenty active. My first toon transferred to Pluto and the too high pop killed the game for me. It’s all about balance. Too low and it isn’t fun, and too high and it isn’t fun. Y’all saying people will complain over everything simply don’t understand. How would it be fun to be thrown into an already decently populated server where you’re not getting into any wars/Invs unless you’re a part of the already established companies? Well there goes 80% of end game content. Have fun endlessly queing for OPR and gathering resources. Oh wait, now you have to compete with bots that use scripts and literally hundreds of more players.
