Too funny, and you did one of my favorite things, you posted a music video as a meme type thing. I love it.
I’d like folks to tell me what they think of my take on the whole sword and shield thing in New World.
The one-handed sword should be like any other one handed weapon in the game, with two sides to it’s weapon mastery all by itself.
The shield should have some limited (read as, something like right now) weapon capabilities in it’s weapon mastery screen, and a new section that allows better blocking.
The shield should be seen as a piece of armor, that you can both attack and defend with, and should be usable with any one-handed weapon in the game, like it is in the real world, not just in conjunction with one specific weapon, so hatchets, rapiers and gauntlets could and should be able to be swapped out, while the shield remains in use, and the only time the shield is slung on a characters back would be if the player opted to use a honest to god two-handed weapon.
Are staves in NW considered one or two-handed?
GA, WH, Musket, Bow & Spear are all two-handed weapons.
Staves IDK to be honest, need advice/thoughts on this.
Gauntlets, Rapier, Sword & Hatchet are all one-handed, right?
So, my idea is that, in the short term we get a statement to the effect that the shield is too be able to be used with any and all one-handed weapons sometime in the future, but that for now, more pressing things will be handled first, as coding in my idea is going to take time and coding. For instance, what will the GUI look like when this change/correction gets into the game? Will duel wielding two weapons require that the shields things always be available while the other one-handed weapon remains by default using the “Q”, “R” & “F” keys, and will only be unavailable once a true two-handed weapon is equipped?
Any thoughts would be appreciated, and let us all remain polite and focused on remembering that any code change is going to have to be a matter of time, and not an immediate fix.
I think I’ll also ask, anyone interested in designing the second half of the shield tree skills? How about the second half of the sword tree?
This is the never ending storie. Sorry, but i cant believe you. Run out of patient my friends. too many disappointments. I beleave It when i see it. Until then, it’s just empty promises. Sign a disappointment player.
