Well friends… I think in the end, the forum is made for talking to the wall, and hearing automatic responses like “I’m very EXCITED about your idea, I’ll pass it on to the Devs”, “see you in new world”, well, it turns out that any hope I have will be pure Copium from a hype I already had with this game, so, with that in mind, I have an idea for this post…
What brought you to the new world? What did you like and dislike about the game? What do you expect for your future in the game? I would like to see each comrade’s vision
I disliked how it became trendy to hate the game. I understand how frustrating the bugs are, I experience them myself all the time but they gave me an opportunity to play the game in a different way. Movement bug? I found ways to get fun interactions with it. I do see myself continuing until I max, I’m keen for future content and can only hope things improve, I’m an optimist honestly and have made many good friends in this game. New World was brought to my attention through some mutual friends, many of whom still play, we’re all clocking in at about 1000 hours played, $70 for 1000 hours, money well spent in most of our opinions.
Came to new world after being begged by friends. Played a little and fell in love with the early combat of the game. Things obviously turned for the worst. Not even the gold duping got me because hey the combat is so fun. Then Void gauntlet came, then the hatchet bug, then the melee nerfs and desync, then the people stopped queing for OPR. Theres just nothing to do now. OPR doesnt pop, even if it does we get perma movement bugged or one shot by some new bug. All my friends are dead and im pushed to the edge.
A friend convinced me to buy the game while in was in Open Beta.
Loved the game at first, every day I was excited to play it. LVL-ing was fun, so was crafting. The world looked amazing and the first time I ran Amrine I was hooked.
As soon as I hit 60 and 200 in my professions I felt cheated. There was no reward for crafting, no real achievement for being lvl 60. I was being forced to do the same grind over and over and the professions are useless without trophies. Even with trophies I wasted over 200 k gold to get some decent gear.
The world seems dead after you reach lvl 60, no PVP, same dungeons ( dungeons are great if you do them at first, but farming the same dungeons 60 times over…not so much)
I left some reviews in the past. I will leave the links below. But to answer your question, I don’t expect anything anymore from this game. Every time I want to log in, the thought of grinding, bugs, no PVP, bots make me have a pass on it.

I first learned about this game in a game testing community that performed scale testing for NW. The graphics and sound were great, so I’ve followed the game since. I got involved to the point where I started tracking bugs on a Trello board (specifically to demonstrate the devs ARE pushing out content/updates/fixes). I’ve stuck around because I see the potential, plus there’s some sunk cost here.
I hope that Feb bug fixes and March content revitalizes the game, as I think we’re in the make it or break it scenario.
Game was made from the ground up for an immersive open world PvP experience and for the last year AGS had been doing everything they can to make the open world and PvP as useless and unfun and non-existent as possible.
Our biggest updates since launch were a new weapon (overtuned but cool) and nothing but pushing people into instances – the literal weakest part of this game.
And instances are the weakest part of the game, not just because there is little content… But philosophically. The combat is just not meant for a robust PvE dungeon experience.
I have to believe the current devs (in leadership positions) inherited everything we love about the game and then ran into the ground through a combination of hubris and incompetence. There’s no other explanation why people love so much about this game and also are so disappointed. It reeks of a leadership changes midway through development.
I originally had no interest in the game. Then a couple of friends got it and so, I did as well. We started as a small company of six players and had hella fun for awhile. They all quit the game before Thanksgiving leaving only me.
I love the game but find myself having to take more and longer breaks from it as there is nothing really left to do other than farming for BIS gear and maybe playing the market to amass gold. The first server merge was a shot in the arm and really made the game more enjoyable however, that bump has since flattened and my server is just as dead as before.
Truly I want this game to succeed and I hope some of those people who quit (like my company) come back to the game at some point. I don’t know what it needs, I am just rambling like and old fool at this point.
I think similarly, I think that spending 70 reais on a game that amused me for 2 months was not money away, but I found the other part of you, kind of, copium ? but anyway, I don’t think the devs are going to do something that we really expect good, an example of this was the mount n being introduced, raid also not, nor pvp arena, like, see, every change they’ve made now, was not aimed at bringing something fun , and yes to hold players in something repetitive for as long as possible, or go back in some change that will make you lose a lot of players, no change was originally thought to please us…
I think what held people back in the new world was the skeleton of the game, and the fact that they bought it.
The skeleton of the new world, is by far the best MMO, it has a very creative and versatile ‘class’ system, a combat with interesting mechanics, block and dodge (lol, I’ve never seen almost any mage use the block), just for these facts (and some payers… I mean, players, pay) the new world held a lot of people.
Hey, I’ll read everything! I like to see opinions on how to improve “this”, but really, I also felt, I was delighted with the fire staff and ice gauntlet, until I realized the problems of both in the end-game… the mastery system is phenomenal, but it lacks lots of things to be better, like more elaborate order of points, reward post level 20 of the weapon etc etc
The fact that the current team is the third team working on the game, explains many of the bugs, it was the current team that postponed and decided to introduce dungeons and makes the game “better” (keys die), but what makes it worse is the game being made by a team that doesn’t play MMO’s, all they want to do is farm content, there is no fun and extended content, and the mutation system had great potential, it was just copying the wow one in essence and sussa, but no… F
