Well..I gave it a really good shot..but back to ESO

Just about every mmo has the same repetitive quests. The flavor text is what makes the unique.

I wish ESO’s combat had substance. It just feels like your swinging wet noodles while jumping on the moon. Everything about ESO is amazing but its combat. I can’t believe they hadn’t done a rework by now.

LOL in the same boat as you, tried ESO again and found it clunky and visualy washed out compared to NW. I know the npc and quests are better, but…

This basically reflects how I feel. I know the development team is not trying to be malice filled or intentionally deterimental…the problem is work ethic. Gaming companies no longer have this double overtime blood, sweat and tears type of mentality when it comes to the games they produce or manage.

Instead people stick to 30 hour work weeks and value their time off over quality and anyone who brings this up will get burned at the stake for mentioning it. It’s not exactly laziness, its a combination of a lack of passion with light working conditions that create the very slow progress towards the problems that exist. I’m not saying there has to be 120 hour sweatshops running, a team can be hard working without having trash conditions. But maybe the times have changed.

Add this into the heavy amounts of pressure from players about gameplay, bugs, issues, transfer problems, exploits, critical game breaks and population issues all funneled through all social media valves at the same time all day everyday…and the team cannot deal with it. To be fair, its difficult for anyone to deal with it.

Which leads me to wonder…
where’s the talent?
where’s the work ethic?
where’s the humility?
where’s the empathy?
where’s the fortitude?

These are things that are very important that I feel are weaknesses in AGS at this moment. The core of this game is excellent and groundbreaking, the team just isn’t invested enough or takes enough care of this…to make an impact fast enough.

He was gonna give you all his gold, but he can’t trade it right now.

I played ESO on launch and it was the most horrible piece of garbage that I ever played.

NW seens flawlessly compared to ESO.

guys dont be suckers , ask for REFUND , we all “officialy” passed our hours in here regarding steam , but they might refund if enough of us pressure and show to steam how they deliverd to us unfinished product who is clearly not ready with this bugs and exploits.

To be fair, ESO was hot garbage when it released.

But ESO recovered as they had devs who fixed the issues. Time will tell of NW can recover as well the devs need to get in gear and dole out bug fixes on the reg.

ESO had to change a lot of calculations from client side to server side to deal with cheat engine and has been fighting lag ever since in Cyrodiil. They have made some unpopular changes to try and improve performance. Some they have changed back others they kept or continue to mess with.
The latest was the introduction of a new set that was suppose to deal with ball groups but had unintended consequences. That set was changed in the update today so some of the PvP crowd will probably trickle back in to give it another try.
It really is to bad they haven’t been able to reel in the lag and performance issues because the combat is really great when it is working. Much more fluid and faster than here. Combat here is really clunky compared to how Cyrodiil used to be.
Basically if performance were improved Cyrodill would have full campaigns again. People liked the play style.

The PVP in ESO is the only reason why I won’t go back to it. I miss everything else though and I have to agree about the care ESO receives. If they could fix the PVP, especially the siege, I would run back in a heartbeat <3

Cyro is the most fun I have ever had, until everyone gets booted in the middle and the heat of the battle. Then get booted over and over again while its going on. Its like giving a baby its favorite candy and yanking it away just as soon as they closed their eyes in pure and utter enjoyment, lol

I played ESO since day one as well as New world. No one would have claimed ESO’s dev team cared about the game or players with how bug ridden that game was at launch. Comparing an established game that went through its own saga of problems for years to a game less then 2 months old isn’t really a fair comparison unless you compare them equally.

same, even with 230+ latency lore is alright, I think PVE wise its in a much better state I wish it had NW’s combat system tho, I def miss the low ping :frowning: They clearly had no idea on direction between PVE and PVP with the current state of the game. With the amount of bugs and issues they need to get back to the drawing board, this is clearly a better PVP game stick with it sort it out and perhaps fix the PVE side of things when adding additional content in the new year.

The dupes hit New World harder, though. Solely because the way their economy is designed to work. A player run, player driven economy with no NPC vendors needs way more stability and a much higher player base. Otherwise it fades very quickly.

It’s also on the higher ups who ran things. Amazon literally released a third of the workforce during covid drama, individuals who were helping develop New World. That shows in the product we got.

Hands down, if the mmo genre playerbase wasn’t so starved for a NEW MMO, New World would have faded away like most of the Korean import ones do. The game is simply just ok. Add in the crazy amount of issues they’re having and the fact they literally possess the same amount of content that APB did when it launched, and that ‘OK’ quickly degrades into ‘bad’ territory.

It’s Amazon so I’d bet a lot of the team were working on H1B visas which explains the terrible coding as well. Last company I worked for did that too and broke stuff on our apps/website often as a result.

if you think NW at its current state is in a better spot, you’re delusional

If you’re going to compare a new release with an 8 year old game having 20 expansions, you’re delusional.

lol, ESO’s pvp is soo bad you can’t even play it, the lag is awful.

Idk why people post stuff like this “come say goodbye to me and hear my last word” and tbh I didn’t even read that bullsht long paragraph
