WH secondary focus scaling

Runeglass gems?

Makes sense that you and everyone else complaining is crutching on that rapier. When you’ve got no talent, you run rapier.

The new hotness.

I agree that we need another weapon which scales with focus, but not necessarily WH. I would like to see a kind of instrument, mandoline i.e., that gives buffs(fortify, empower…) to the group and scales with focus and dex.

No need to get personal papi you only nake yourself look like a prick. I can hold my own and I almost never use that meta slave, busted grace tree so you can shush now.

Thats pretty cool and might actually help.

It’s not tuned down at all. T2 scales 160% of focus. Compared to T2 int gem that scales 200% it might seem down but compared to T5 that just split damage it’s completely fine and awards bonus damage

Current amber gems are not scaling properly with Focus, and should convert 50% of the damage, even when the tooltip says 50%, the scaling is about 22%, that’s why you don’t see healers running SnS with ambers slotted.

I did a million tests, the damage formula for amber conversion is gimped.

Well, hopefully they fix that! Or maybe it’s on purpose because they don’t want healers doing dmg

You sure? No healer ever scaled a secondary with focus because the damage was tuned down to avoid damaging healers. Haven’t played healer since 1.4 so maybe I’m out of touch with the builds.

This is since release. 160% it’s still nothing because the base damage it’s bad but worth it on VG for example

bro please explain wtf you’re trying to do here like do you even play healer your suggestion makes no sense how are you gonna damage people with hammer as a healer

I dont play with LF. Messed around with it a little bit on PTR a couple of times, paired it with VG also and realized how quickly it becomes boring af to only have 2 weapons in your arsenal. 0 variety. Being a healer in NW is a chore at best.

And as for your question… are you joking?

It’s not terrible to expect a working level of damage on a secondary as a healer.

The formula should allow secondaries to do more than simply be status effect sticks. And amber have been tuned down so low that none of the other weapons act as anything but a stun or getaway utility.

But it looks like they may be correcting that with the runeglass. I’m curious to see how that all plays out. I’ll be testing heavily on the PTR!

Even if you could do insane dmg on a secondary you cannot spend time on your secondary as a healer you need to be ready with DE and reset sacred

What are you on about bro? Main point is to have a WEAPON and not a tool. You talk as if people who heal dont ever use their VGs.

That’s the problem.

We don’t have access to “support healing” as a secondary in any meaningful sense. And a lot of people want that. IE paladin, bard style.

VG is “ok” at this, but there’s infinitely more potential to be had here.

We are conditioned to consider that healers must only have the staff out and bomb heal, that’s part of the issue.

But that’s not gonna change no matter what damage weapon starts scaling with focus

The most skilled and the least skilled healers in the game all run rapier, outside of a couple aoes that greed for vg. When your trying to win you run whats most effective.

That.

Healer without a rapier is often considered as food. Especially in Arena/ OPR

This is one of the reasons why I created this topic so that healers could have something to fight back. God forbid outdps, but something else to do other than standing in sacred or fleche away. Is it much to ask? Judging by the replies here probably yes.
