What’s the counter to a good, aggressive fire staff in arenas?

Anyone know an effective build against good, aggressive fire staff mages in arenas? I tried all Rubys with 3 pieces of elemental aversion and it didn’t seem to make a noticeable difference. Is there some build that works? I feel like melee builds would just get kited to death, and dex range will get burned to death.

To be clear, I’m only taking about good fire mages, and I’m not advocating for any nerfs.

Just dont panic when it hits you. Often times its not as big of a deal as its made out to be.

Most weapons have, stagger,stun and escape option you just have to react accordingly.
