What Are we Doing With Exploiters?

Hopefully they will all end up with VAC bans or something. A nice trophy for their steam account to show what good gamers they are.

Without knowing the details of what people have been doing, a combat glitch is something different than an exploit. It’s hard not to adapt to the actual mechanics of the game at any given point, so it is a grey area. How is someone supposed to know that X behavior that has been there since they started playing is intentional or not? Duping items or gold on the other hand there is absolutely no excuse for.

This honestly is the top issue.
I feel players are willing to wait for fixes – as long as the cheating and exploiting is stopped.
And they can at least deter it by quickly banning exploiters and cheaters regularly while they fix things.

Other games regularly have reports of a tally of bans and even listings of accounts banned. That reinforces faith of legitimate players and keeps them playing.

It’s been too long for a lot of exploits and cheats. Legitimate players deserve compensation. Hefty compensation especially if they are going to wipe the servers.

FFXIV actually had an issue when it first started when you could manipulate a packet and create items or gold. Square Enix banned everyone that had over a certain amount of gold whether you did the act or received money from selling an item for an inflated price.

Manipulating the network packets for any reason should be an instant and permanent ban period.

When you suddenly get great results, especially when you have to take extraordinary action to do so (e.g., macros or insane button mashing), you are already into suspicious territory and had better stop and report.

Bless Unleashed bans players when “their account is abnormal”. They can argue with customer service later.

Too many players just pretend they didn’t know it’s exploitation when that’s what they are doing.
Is your fire staff machinegunning? You seriously don’t think that’s abnormal?

I can’t argue on that, because i never played the game, but i guess it wasn’t basically half of the population right?

I guess if anybody here in this thread took part in any war since Launch you should know what’s going on in wars right now and it might be only my server specifically - which is highly doubt, because there is Twitch and YT Video proof that it is happening on a daily basis - but my company and i am experiencing and experienced during the last weeks severe issues and exploit usage in Wars such as intentionally lagging the server and using the Window-Invincible-Exploit on point.

Well, if you get video proof on a daily basis where you can see and sometimes even hear that they are intentionally lagging the server with spaming AOE then i guess its on AGS to decide if that’s an abuse of and exploit/issue or not. My point is just - and thats what i specifically said in my comment - that AGS have to aknowledge something as an exploit first because they than can punish people for it. So what you basically just said here is exactly what was in my comment, just in different words.

But to answer your point, you CAN see what people did, because there is a ton of tickets on such behaviour. You “just” have to judge if that’s an issue or “OK”, because .

The world is ending, run for your lives!

Yes, gold dupes and bots are really a pain. But they have happened in EVERY SINGLE MMO I have ever played. And I have still end up playing them for years and having fun.

It is not the end, NW is a success, they will fix the bugs and as far as bots and exploiters cheaters go, I hope they ban as many as possible.

From the way people go on and on, they should never ever play an MMO, or most PC games, many console ones as well.

Very well put!

I encourage others to read the whole post, but it’s to the point.

There is absolutely no way they will find all the botters, dupers and exploiters…and the steps they’ve taken to cover their trails, and be able to do anything about it.

The only thing they really have left is to fix it. Wipe. Restart. In that order.

We’ve played for hours and hours for our $40, and had some good times. Let’s do it again legitimately. If you want to refund, go for it. Of course…many people would pause before doing that if there was a bit of a price hike to re-puchase the game :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

So everything would stay the same? LOL. Sad but true!

New world is not on the VAC list

I expect a weekly ban list soon with the names of the exploiters, since the first weeks I saw people putting low tier items at exorbitant prices on the market like tier 1 hatchet being sold at 16k, I asked myself why would someone pay 1k tax to put a tier 1 hatchet to sell at 16k??? now i understand that is gold exploiters accounts… laundering money for your non exploiter accounts hope they are tracked and punished.

good

No game I’m aware of has ever listed character names when a game releases the number of accounts banned so I don’t see Amazon doing this. I would like to see them actually start banning people but that doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen either

That’s too bad. VAC bans are great.

And that will take care of that ONE person but the damage is well and done. First priority is to fix shit that keeps getting exploited and like it or not a cheater is more likely to expose new vulnerabilities than a legit player. My bet is they’re watching these cheaters closely and using them to track new exploits. The hammer will come.

Some games like GTA 5 have hackers plagued in their servers and EA does nothing. It’s easier for AGS to do nothing as well. Unless you see these bans happening, I don’t foresee them doing anything to these people cheating which is totally unfair to those of us that are playing the game properly.

Obviously not enough. Billions in gold created. Some companies have dozens of players fully outfitted in legendary gear and weapons.

Amazon is too afraid to perma ban these exploiters or take the time to dig through and track down all these exploiters, which would take significant time. The exploiters, the majority, know they are safe.
