Why did they call it golf?

Its highly underrated over on the New World forums.
The window for OPR popping on our server is so small that I can’t even hardly hop on and get in a few rounds of boring OPR anymore :c

I looked it up, not a very exciting origin. So I guess a golf club is technically a club club.
The word ‘golf’ is not an acronym for anything. Rather, it derives linguistically from the Dutch word ‘kolf’ or ‘kolve,’ meaning quite simply ‘club’. In the Scottish dialect of the late 14th or early 15th century, the Dutch term became ‘goff’ or ‘gouff,’ and only later in the 16th century ‘golf’.
I still do cd’s and maybe acid chests, a few m10s if anyone is on, if not i log off and do dailies and a few quick Crystal Conflict matches (pvp arena moba like mode) on FF14. Sometimes i jump on Destiny 2 for a quick nightfall spam or raid with the clan. Still boycotting ESO b/c sick of ZoS/Bethesda’s bs and shady monetization practices. Not to mention the lack of giving a crap about throwing a bone to PvP for going on 5 years, otherwise id prolly be playing that till degen hours regularly 
Ablion online
I pop in every other day to annoy the bot farmers I see on route and can disrupt but other games I’m running to pass time for now is swtor/eso/FF VII remastered and I’m old school as you can see so I’m getting down on some Doom 64 (steam). NW is a ‘Let’s bug the bots’ for an hour’ and go do something else (NW it’s yes bugging the bots but what keeps me only logging in besides me annoying bots is the graphics. I really really do love the graphics)

Old School Runescape, destroys this game hands down I cant believe this game even dares to be an MMO with how fast you progress everything pathetic.

BFV and New World and watching out for news on Pax Dei, AoC, Dune MMO, and Nightingale. I’m eager for a new game that is good quality from the start. Games coming out at the moment seem to be buggy, half-arsed messes.

=,…= if you’re desperate to be bored in an OPR go n make an alt on a populated server. You’re missin nothing though, just padders padding without consequence.
New World is on the menu tomorrow ladies and gents.

The huge list of games people named here and no1 named sekiro, elden ring etc…im starting to understand why some ppl complain that much about dodges in light armor and weapon balance.
