Lol, so demanding! Make everything free! Remove doge and move meta back to heavy! Wow, soo well though. Increase player cap to 4000 and than what? Put everyone on server with 5000 ms lag?
I don’t think you know what you are talking about.

Wars - only selected people in each faction can experience this feature, they can join war over and over again without penalty or some kind of attrition, that’s why one company can also take over all the territories
Expeditions - locked by orbs, why not just limit the item drops by number of entries instead of locking it totally for players to enjoy it
OPR - taking too long to queue now, and people just afk to farm coins
Weapon - infinite stun, that’s it, no brains needed, spam click, spam stun
PvP/PvE arenas - make it more interesting for people to farm those GS
Bugs - fix them first before introducing new events, you don’t have to release features every month just to introduce a lot of bugs, give more time to testing
Wars there is nothing interesting in wars trust me running around taking 3 points enemies respawn at points senseless, same shit is in opr 20v20 instead 50v50, at least in oprs you dont exp. ultra mega lags. About OPRs u wrote a lie u cant get now any coin if u go afk. What do you meant in infinite stun? Now less and less people playing with hammers moreover stun ends after u get 1st hit so dont cry VG is more annoying with its root. In the end I wanna return to wars why u think any company which own the city should add u to their war? You cant win any war with randoms without shotcaller proper composistion and coooperation. Enemy team which have everything mentioned will just smash you.
Maybe there is a reason why nobody want them for wars ? Like nobody know them, their eq is wrong or weak maybe they were trolling, maybe they did not obey shotcaller last time ? In wars I need people who obey me not doing what they want and I met with that very often when they did not want to join discord coms, cuz their children are sleeping xd ( really do you think I care I will just kick you) in my company people who did not obey shotcaller were just kicked from company and banned for any content with us.
While there are many issues, the weapon swap bug has to be the biggest point of frustration. Compared to deaths against a class you might think is OP, chain CC, etc… a death that occurs to weapon swapping is a bug that will make people leave the game.
Below is a conjecture about the issue:
Please ask AGS to come out and mention if they cannot solve the issue or if the animations designed was their intended solution to not having the common design explained in 1) & 2).
Is it possible that the issues arise from two problems:
There seems to be no global cool down (GCD) on abilities. Every MMO game has these to prevent the design of an impossible priority queue system.
Animations from abilities need to be run in a separate thread or be changed completely. There is no reason to be stuck in the cast animation such as Defiant Stance while getting ****.
If you think about it, all the issues come from this unless otherwise stated by a dev. It appears AGS is trying to create some kind of priority queue on abilities instead of what every experienced MMO company does, no queue. You simply block out everything after the global cool down and wait till they can actually cast the ability again.
Right now, the game is trying to synchronize too many things (especially with stagger effects).
Possible Solution
Add a GCD. You could possibly have buffs that decrease the time.
Get rid of any queue logic. Just greedily accept the first command that comes in. DO NOT try to recast the ability they just attempted to use after being staggered or CC. let the player hit the key again…
*Investigate the effects on the game if stagger is no longer present.
thumbs up to the foresight of letting the initial negativity pass as it indeed is a great opportune topic for feedback.
The most frustrating thing for me in new world would be the following:
FPS / Desync or tremendous resource consumption
Trying to remember what exact time the day before that i earned gypsum for that activity considering the invisible 22 hour timer.
After rifts close to get stuck in a tree stump thus forced to auto unstuck.
when a mob dies an inch above ground and thus cannot be skinned
when placing things in your house and it just behaving bizarely or contrary to common sense. if i place objects upside down even if on flat surface it will always be yellow, this also means creating creative setups is limited as it penalizes points in favor of the hoarder look players simply stacking dishes and beds in the back yard… points should be augmented by other than a static item tier score.
trying to find out the hidden undocumented patch note changes as we only see highlight points thus its always a question among players to figure out what and how.
not knowing what stacks or doesnt and to what extent, or what abilities do under certain circumstances as the lack of readily available info is rather limited.
when i visit town board and cant turn in or accept missions even if i see them and havent reached the cap of active town board quests yet.
I don’t think that leveling up needs to be sped up any more than what it currently is. The game needs more activities that can be done at midgame. The design philosophy shouldn’t be “race the player to endgame.”
One other big issue is the motivation for players in the game. For many, gearing up for the wars is the number one priority. However, many players, especially new players, will never get a chance in most wars.
To fix this and make the game more enjoyable for everyone, we could possibly do:
Every time a war occurs, create a mirror war event that does not matter, but lets people join to have a good time. Let as many people join as possible and use this for testing anything new.
Create multiple types of top 5 rankings in the war: current one, point time/damage taken, siege damage, etc… are just some possible examples. Maybe even best overall 5 man team etc…
Keep a public collection of rankings from all wars on all player stats. This way, people can be scouted from the ‘non serious wars’ and be added to the main wars. In addition, rankings always give people something to focus their attention on (away from bugs for example)
i think expertise is fine, but umbral shards… i hate being forced to stay in a dungeon all day farming those. Why not introduce them as rewards for wars or OPR.
What do you think of this possible solution?.
The time gates and grinds.
I’d be much happier with this game playing it for like 10 hours a month, like ffxiv. If I could literally select my gear and stats outright.
Have a few mage builds, maybe a Dex one, yknow a variety.
Not on an infinite treadmill. I ain’t spending another 1k hours on my gear that’s not even bis.
What frustrates me the most currently in New World:
Still bad communication. Example: mutations didnt reset, AGS said they will fix it in the weekly maintenance, but didnt specify when. And since mutations are time gated, it kinda matters.
Lack of incentives for open world PvP. Proposed solution: crate some cool looking and/or unique stat items that drop ONLY from killing other players in open world PvP. What we can loot from eachother now is a joke.
Firstly, thank you for leaving this open.
Second, as for points of frustration. PvP is a constant disappointment in many instances.
*Game Breaking Glitches that eventually become exploited. Prime example is the current movement glitch and speed glitch. When these arise they are a major issue to the integrity of New World PvP. Many Wars have been won by lieu of exploiting glitches left unfixed. I don’t even want to wage a war for our company at the moment, because of issues like these.
*Being forced to PvE way more than I want to. Whether it’s for materials to bring up my trades so i can someday make good weapons and armor. Or grinding mutations and elite chests. Just to stay relevant in this games inherently imbalanced PvP meta.
*Out Post Rush has a few serious issues. I take it for what it is a 20 v 20 free for all. Teams are random configurations. The Brute is just redonkulus. The scoring system ignores players making significant contributions. Like capping a fort, fortifying a location, damaging enemies but not getting the kill shot,
*Watching good PvP’ers leave the game and becoming inactives on our roster which I sadly have to officially kick at some point. This right here takes its toll on PvP’ers like me who are still hanging in there.
Thanks again. I tried not to be nit picky and only mentioned the most troubling things I see in this game.
By the way, In my honest opinion I feel as if PvP that isn’t Open World; like the Wars and OpR’s should have their own instance. This PvP instance of the game would have it’s own patches and updates. This would allow for balancing serious PvP. The meta would be managed as a result. The players should have a PvP version of themselves. The Weapons and Armors should be available the same way they are on the PTR for level 60. Any level player would be able to make a level 60 PvP. Only PvP only gear in high level New World PvP.
I think everyone has said everything that they hate about new world. The developers should finally start addressing those issues, and a simple “We hear you” is not addressing! We want to see patches without or just a few bugs and we want playable content, remove the timegates, make CD’s for crafting and buying global & fix the desync!
for me its the awful rng. I dont mind playing games that are rng reliant. but the percentage chances you have to get certain items in this game are just so awful. the crafting rng is awwwwwful. Ive used hundreds of asmo trying to get good jewelry to no avail. Ive gotten 2 legendary jewelry pieces in all my crafts an guess what? they both have a crafting perk on them. Which is so ridiculous! things like “+5 to minimum arcane crafting” or weaponsmithing, or armoring or whatever, SHOULD NOT BE IN THE PERK BUCKET WHEN CRAFTING! those should only be able to be applied to jewelry if you have the crafting mod applied when going to craft a piece of jewelry.
My second biggest frustration is that their is almost no reason to even care about grinding for perfect gear. For what reason do i need those BiS items? for OPR? nah… war? yeah trying to even get in a war is ridiculous so again, nah. the PVE stuff? aside from mutations which gear score is the only thing that matters really, everything else is just so easy. Arenas should be the main priority after bug fixes and weapon balance seriously. Give players a reason to grind the gear that were currently being made to grind. If their is an actual competitive pvp only mode you will have people playing that alll the time, an if combat is smoothed out, weapons are balanced better, then i think everyone that pvps will love it an will want to get as strong as they can, to do the best that they can in this competitive pvp mode, and i think that would bring some players back as well.
Those are my main gripes with the game as of right now. Desync also is a major one but i know thats already being looked into and im hoping its sorted out in the Feb patch… we will see. I really did love this game at first, i still really enjoy the combat system and the look an feel of the game, it just needs soooo much polish, and a lot more varied things to do before its the game i think it can be.
Oh I wish. My dream is to make my own mmorpg game
For me it’s the single lack of flushing out any one individual feature. I made a post about it and it wasn’t the first one.
It’s typically the problem with most games these days, great technology and foundation, but the producers/directors don’t sit and flush out the features. They rush to keep people busy instead.
They should have level capped it at 50 on launch, used watermark then if they wanted. Then released 60 with all the content they have mid Jan. Devs wouldn’t have been preoccupied with bugs because of rushed content, they would have had ptr and to players it would have seemed like new content.
Between this and so many other games it’s a good lesson to have the first 6 months of releases pre-completed, so that you can slowly roll out content while fixing issues and major concerns.
