I’m sure AGS anticipated these insane queue times on some servers. They added an expected queue time graph so people could have set expectations. However, does AGS have a plan to combat this? I used my free transfer to go to Castle of Steel when I started playing again because this is where most of my friends ended up. Then some people got locked out and the people on CoS are sitting in 2000 person queues. Will there be another wave of free transfers? Since there are servers with very low pop this seems like a win/win for balancing server pop. Get people off the server to lower queues and get the other servers filled.
I don’t think increasing server cap is smart because there is already a resource harvesting struggle with all the bots and goldfarmers. Add another 500 pop and the map will be empty. Really hope AGS gets a head of this quicker than they did on release.
So Dev gives generic response and closes the thread to prevent replies… yes, server limits were increased, however, as addressed above, that does not solve the problem, it actually creates a new one of resource scarcity. Opening new servers will address the issue if free transfers come along with it. Otherwise you are basically weaponizing queue times to line your pockets, wait in a 2 hour queue or pay $15 to solve the problem. I understand transferring a character is the players choice but when the choice is being almost forced by spending more than half of your available time to play in a queue, this seems like something that will require accommodation.
