What is really causing players to not want to login to NW?

I play 90% of the time solo, I always have something to do. I did Amrine yesterday and we filled the group almost instantly.

I think they already know about this, really, but it’s hardly a priority yet.

Not experiencing an issue does not mean that no one ever experienced it or will ever experience it

I will assume, in general, players find fairly easily players to run amrine on populated servers yet. It also might be hard on a short term on mid to small servers. Even one player in this situation is already too much in my opinion.

Being stuck on a server I hate is why I stopped playing

Exploits are the number one thing my friends have been driven away by.

  1. Gold dupers unpunished and running around rich.
  2. Item dupers unpunished
  3. War exploits unfairly turning land over to people who abuse them
  4. People being mass reported before wars in turn stopping them from participating and losing land.
  5. Servers that are dying less that 200- 300 in peak time, crappy economy tables can’t be upgraded or maintained.

They need to merge servers asap

My server’s in it’s death throes. I only ever enjoyed the open world small scale pvp. Now that my server is nearly dead, I can go hours or days without ever seeing anyone flagged.

Not to mention, bots have been farming every single fishing hot spot, iron node, et cetera. Economy went down the drain due to the multitude of unfixed duping exploits that were reported en masse in both alpha preview, closed beta, and open beta. And I am in a no-mans land in my crafting at about 175 where it’s going to take me a few hundred thousand iron/leather/whatever to get to 200. I cannot be bothered to go gather hundreds of thousands of material.

Here’s the fun part - even if I had the motivation to gather the material, I can’t craft with it. Since so many of the companies have up and left or have been dormant since the trading was disabled, combined with the fact that most of the territories simply don’t have the income to upkeep the towns now, There are scant fucking few t5 stations remaining. I couldn’t make high tier gear even if I wanted to.

this is happening to a lot of people and it explains the steady loss of players each week

I‘m playing MMORPGs since 2006, thanks. They’re exactly my genre. Maybe that’s why I am used to some basic standards in Western ones and expected more than this early access game that’s mimicking an Asian grinder later on.

nothing wrong with the game… just need work and updates LIKE ANY OTHER MMO…

Its the community and toxic streamers that create hype or downfall.

The 1 thing thats bad is that we only had 1 free server transfer.

Some of us ended up on a server where other players just left and now is dead.

Fix this A.S.A.P. so we can enjoy playing with others in a MMO…

Many times that? Its funny for a guy who always asks for numbers you are very willing to make up your own when needed.

How many times the 900k is the actual population? Please show us that number.

Game is a mile long and an inch deep.

You experience everything the game has to offer PvE wise in the first 20 level then rinse and repeat till 60.

You essentially use the same abilities you have for 40 levels and fight the same mobs and do the exact same thing

The most important factor is herd mentality. The game got negative hype so people are knitpicking it. Just take a look to all the people that are parroting utubers in here alone.
It will pass once all the casuals and crybabies are gone. There is 0% chance of new world dying. It will just end up with a stable dedicated community like any MMO…

At the rate it is going its a lot more than casuals and crybabies as you call them leaving.

My one gripe is that I spend so little time actually playing the game, sick of crafting sim 2.0, I want to use my abilities and practice my skills, not stand in town crafting for days and days and days because any other method of raising GS seems to stink. Really need to do something with Genesis and Lazarus to make it an alternate path of gearing, that is NOT tied to watermark.

Everything you do is devalued because of the exploits. Crafting levels. Gear. Gathering.
Of course people don’t want to log in anymore.
If there’s no value in what you do then why do it?

People have already warned that the game is in dire need of a global reset. There are entire servers of exploiters who are maxed out in GS and sitting on piles of duped gold and resources at this point. Obviously people who believe in the game still and are fully sunk cost invested into the game will push back but mountains more people have just left without saying a word.

I don’t have data obvioulsy but you can estimate how long the average player is playing and make an estimate based on concurrent players.

If you estimate that players in average play 6h you can just look on the stats and pick 4 peaks during the day that don’t overlap and multiply those to get an idea of active playerbase that day. I think the average playtime is around 3h though or even less in average across all players. The playtime was probably much higher at launch and lower today. Don’t you think so? How do you think that would affect stats for concurrent players?

This is my point though. We do not have data for population. I have repeated that over and over. So it’s kinda silly to ask me for data for population. I am the one asking for it.

Nothing wrong with making an estimate based on the data you do have. But you can’t present it as a fact. We know for a fact that the peak and concurrent players are decreasing so we can make the conclusion that the population is decreasing to. But we don’t have data for population. We can only make estimates.

We do know that the population NECESSARILY is much higher than the peak and concurrent players becasue people in average doesn’t play 24/7.

The key here is to estimate how much the average player plays daily/weekly/monthly today compared to at launch. That will show us how the population have changed since launch. Right now all that we have data for is that people are playing less. We do not have data of how many people are playing so we don’t KNOW if population have decreased or by how much.

no these people just have no life and spend hundred and hundred of hours playing non stop

you will never be able to compete with them as a casual. stop worrying and complaining about other players that have good gear - that isn’t even the issue

bots the one reason for the massive deflation and the other is crafting hundreds of useless items to lvl up and people dump them on the market

Who are you quoting? Why are you talking about deflation, bots, and casuals?

People dump crafted junk on the market? I just assumed everyone salvages it all.
