What is the cheesiest melee build

I hear everyone saying that all the time. So now that I’ve been forced to delete my 700 hour 60 and start over on a populated server, I’m going to try it out for myself.

I’m running hatchet/great axe.

For the GA builds, is it just STR stacking? Or is there a sweet spot of distribution with CON as well?

I don’t know myself, I never look that stuff up. I like to have 8,000 health then put everything else into the primary stat.

Yes hatchet is a great self healing tool, it’s also really OP when you can cleave mobs. It just doesn’t shine that well in pvp, because of the lack of a stun/root. However now that weapon swaps work a little better, some people might start to like it.

according to forums, you should try ga + lmb spam… no 2nd weapon is needed. just str + heavy armor. lets see how far you get

I personally always try to aim for 100con on every build. it’s not that hard to be 300/100 at 60, but if you want to go full glass cannon you can go all STR, but AoE in PVE are really going to suck.

Thanks for the tips. I’m going to do some playtesting.

Hatchet is utter garbage in larger scale PVP. Not sure about small scale.

Hatchet having high DPS only matters for PVE, because in PVP you won’t hit shit with those 0.1m range swings (but maybe that’s just me with my 170 ping).

Rapier reposte into musket trap is absolutely disgusting in 1 v 1s

Group hatchet’s saving grace is it’s antiheal which is utterly amazing in wars.

Tiny radius, long animation lock, low duration.
If they increase the radius perhaps.

Why would anyone give that up for the advantages of a WH or GA in a war?

I just dislike the war hammer, and am tired of the sword. I figured I could use the hatchet for utility, and use the great axe to dps. Then I wouldn’t have to split attributes.

That’s how I will see GA users from now

Don’t forget to Press w from time to time.

Lol first OPR I did with GA I did 500k damage in faction light armor converted to str/con

OMG! hasiduhasudasd I have GA in 20, but yeah, not my gameplay, but so far a good gameplay for dumbs looking for attack spamming with good return.

So, I bought some budget heavy armour, GA, Hatchet with Int/Con to it and added Int scaling gems so my damage wouldn’t totally suck.

I did some initial testing in PvE. Just environmental encounters/quests. I could reliably trash groupings of 2-3 enemies at my level that I wouldn’t have been able to with my old build. Questing was also a lot easier too (map design keeps forcing a lot of small confine combat spaces). Not sure if this is the weapon utilities or the nature of heavy armour, but it was a lot more forgiving. I find that I am able to first hit a lot harder, i could face tank some hits, any my survivability was not solely dependant on potions and dodging.

Still need to test this in other contexts. Probably will not touch PvP until I have sunk a lot more hours. Will test in expeditions later.

EDIT: I would say reliable dmg sustain rather than hit a lot harder*

I am probably going to swap back to light armour. I do miss the dodges.

Make sure you are also buying honing stones for a good damage boost. Depending on the server they can be pretty cheap and last 15min even though the description says like 0.05 seconds
