I’m not sure there is one. I used to use sword and spear and did pretty well overall in team PvP. There was no particular melee build I found especially effective against me.
It was ice and fire that caused me the most troubles, and frankly it was lifestaff that got the killing blow all the time.
I’m not here to debate the mechanics of the weapons.
I’ve simply found hatchet to be a more useful weapon than firestaff in just about all aspects of my gameplay, especially expeditions. So I am looking for some cheesy builds to get some cheap thrills before I make a decision if I want to swap play styles.
If cheese is the thing, then Hammer/Hatchet heavy is cheese af and easy to play. Also Spear/Hatchet is very good at killing melee players who dont dodge but harder to play. glhf.
GA is always the answer, it’s just really OP.
Minor self heal
Gap closer with charge.
You run faster when you are targeting something (from an decent range)
You can pull people towards you.
You can root people in place, trying to run, and does damage to them.
It’s the noob tube of New World. Any idiot can use it effectively. Very low skill cap.
I hear everyone saying that all the time. So now that I’ve been forced to delete my 700 hour 60 and start over on a populated server, I’m going to try it out for myself.
Yes hatchet is a great self healing tool, it’s also really OP when you can cleave mobs. It just doesn’t shine that well in pvp, because of the lack of a stun/root. However now that weapon swaps work a little better, some people might start to like it.
I personally always try to aim for 100con on every build. it’s not that hard to be 300/100 at 60, but if you want to go full glass cannon you can go all STR, but AoE in PVE are really going to suck.
Hatchet is utter garbage in larger scale PVP. Not sure about small scale.
Hatchet having high DPS only matters for PVE, because in PVP you won’t hit shit with those 0.1m range swings (but maybe that’s just me with my 170 ping).
I just dislike the war hammer, and am tired of the sword. I figured I could use the hatchet for utility, and use the great axe to dps. Then I wouldn’t have to split attributes.
