So I spent the last 4 weeks in the crafting system. Let me tell you where it got me. It got me a voidbent set 2 days before they nerfed heavy armor, and a loss of 15k in buy orders when the post was “getting fixed”. So yeah some of us are salty and just because some stuff hasn’t affect you doesn’t mean the game is in a good state
What for? So that you can craft gear that no-one buys and that is way under-leveled for yourself?
Also, not much point. As a PvE player I don’t disagree though. Earning something “special” is a good progression but as it stands 90% of content is not soloable at level 60.
I can get behind PvP parts if I liked fighting against other people. Invasions aren’t exactly an exciting part of this game.
Impossible on smaller servers where no-one buys anything.
This is a time sink starting with having to find people, building it all up and once (if ever) you’re there grinding the content you described above.
There is no endgame (PvE) like dungeons or raids. You all know it! Why all people still rushed too fast to 60??? I don’t get it… Why you not play relaxed and enjoy the environment in this game and keep it slow and easy. We all know there are no endgame now
I never said none of it affected me?
I can clearly understand your frustration.
That said, there are still things to do in the game at end game was my point and that still stands. I mean look at your post, it provided you two weeks of play time.
The game is not, and I want to be clear here, in a good state, never said it was.
So Lazarus Instrumentality and Garden of Genesis don’t exist?
I suppose invasions don’t exist either right?
All of end game is a time sink though. It is just does the game have the time sinks we find interesting.
Do not get me wrong, I agree there is not a whole lot at the end game by any means, but there is stuff to do. Just a decision on if we enjoy that.
I have always said new world content is a mile wide, and an inch deep.
I actually agree with you. You listed valid points, it’s just that I’m deflated I think. My love for this game died over the last few days and suddenly I lost my rose tinted glasses and realised that it’s all pointless. The grind, the chase, all for what? To do more of the same? Somehow other games I’ve played left me always wanting more but New World just dangles this carrot and pretends there is something when actually there isn’t.
If you mean like raiding and things of that nature there are none. This is a heavily focused pvp mmo. However, I wouldn’t doubt if they don’t add a raid sooner rather than later since they made dungeons. Otherwise, the end game is what others have said, grind out skills to 200, gear 600 etc. Outpost rushes, wars, portals etc.
I feel you, I really do. I have a set group of friends that I play with but it honestly feels like we log on, do our own thing and only meet up for Invasions, Wars, or a Dungeon or two once one of us craft a key.
I wont say I love new world but I will say I like it. Even in its current state. It scratches an itch I just have not felt in a long long time. Like the struggle makes it interesting, not fun, but interesting.
I look at New World honestly at this point as a single player game where I am just trying to max out my character completely with some added group bonus content. I know this sounds dumb but yesterday I played for 2 hours, you know what I did that whole time, the star metal loop in great cleave to level up my mining to 152. I am excited to get to 175 to start farming orichalcum. How crazy is that, I want to leave work right now, go home, jump in new world and hit more rocks.
During that time I killed 2 other people, that is just one person per hour but it was the most fun I have felt in New World since we beat Laz. Its like New World is 98% bland grind with 2% surprising fun.
they were hiring a lot of people and i heard they want to do a lot of stuff in the new year, so i think we might start to see stuff coming then. it probably still wont be a raid, but better quests and stuff to start
The problem is new world pvp is so clunky and boring. They also brought back the insane lag so now it’s literally unplayable(wars/outpost).
Lol. Truth.
Endgame is arts and crafts followed by spamming hammer in opr.
open chest simulator
In a game where the mass of their audience has soundly rejected PvP as their desired gameplay, they are pushing PvP as the end game.
What do you get from any game? Pixels aren’t shit. It’s about the experience.
Exactly my feelings. I do do PvP in general but just not in this game as jumping around and left clicking a big circle on a ground doesn’t appeal to me. I played this game purely as a PvE game and wanted to max out my skills (maybe not all but the ones that would allow me to get to the point where I could craft something useful for myself) but I found myself spending more time thinking about how I could not spend 50 hours gathering plants or ores than actually enjoying it. And then they increased crafting requirements with the patch and I’m just speechless.
I probably similarly to you play games to have fun. Fun is obviously not just in playing but achieving things too. Getting to max level, getting best gear, beating a hard boss or completing a hard dungeon BECAUSE you managed to get that good gear. With New World I feel like I turn left to farm gear - AGS go “NO!”. I turn right to level up my skills - AGS say “NO!”. I turn back forward to do main story line and yet again they present me with missions that you just can’t solo.
Stuff like that is what eventually kills games for me. I will never understand the logic of these project managers trying to make everything as long and hard as possible thinking that somehow prolongs the enjoyment. Well it doesn’t, it just completely voids my desire to play the product. I mean I’m cool, I don’t really care at the end of the day. I got my money’s worth and there are lots of good games coming out soon so my life is obviously not over. It’s just annoying when you invest so much time into something and get emotionally attached as you’re spending so much time in that virtual world for it all to just be ruined in one go.
I got bad news for you if you like playing MMOs…
Small-scale group PvP is my favorite part of the game by far. You can’t just say, “it’s not fun in itself” and assume that applies to me, too. I think it’s very fun, especially when you’re fighting server rivals with some bad blood in between you two.
If PvP is the endgame, why would anyone want to play this game?
So I just have to go get my great axe and my hammer and troop into crowds of players? As that is still very much what open world and to some extent OPR pvp is like.
Way better pvp games out there that pvpers will go back to once the mass exodus of players reaches its peak.
