What is the point of the PTR? Seriously?

The build we were testing and giving feedback on wasn’t even the same build that got released.

Not to mention they haven’t implemented even 1 suggested change so even you feedback was pointless.

Aside from the linking up from the AHs the players suggested and the running on roads buff that players suggested and I’m pretty sure they flattened out how dumb alchemy was with its mats needed due to player feedback too

The buffs to mobs were outta no where though

Bro imagine this…

You own a restaurant.

You plan update the menu with a new range of pizzas… you ask your friend to taste test it… and give you feedback.

Would you care about their pizza feedback if you suddenly decided to change your mind and do fried chicken instead?

This has been confusing me too. Especially when a feature not in the PTR (mining mobs now give motes) broke and has to be turned off for the last 3 days.

Isnt the idea of a PTR to be a test so when the patch is released nothing breaks.
The other changes that weren’t tested being mob health increase/chests etc also bypassed the PTR and made it to live. Knowing that this would be an unpopular move they didnt adverise it.

Really a last word of advice. Please, really, please stop making decisions you know will be unpopular. They make no sense in games where popularity is the aim.

WoW has travelled down this road and is reaping the whirlwind where they have a vision and stick to that vision no matter if the players hate it.

The PTR was just a marketing stunt. No company announces and launches a PTR and one week later already releases the PTR build to live servers. No. Company. Even in Elder Scrolls Online, where they barely listen to feedback as well, they keep it for 4 weeks on the PTR. In New World‘s case? The PTR was completely useless.

As they told us, they gave us an older build with 1.1 live. So the actual build they deployed to the live servers wasn’t even the build they had on the PTR but another one. So we tested a build that was never meant to get released anyway. It was just a major waste of player time.

Just like the beta, nothing, probably just for attention. They released it way too fast, seriously, like they don’t playtest their own game beforehand…

Pretty much every twitch I saw was players dueling, not testing . So doubt people would have noticed changes anyway
