What is the purpose of "Town Upkeep" quests?

I cannot locate anything in regards to the purpose of these quests. One would think that the more of these quests that are done, the lower the Upkeep taxes would be for said town. If that truly is the case it does not appear to be working as intended.

There is no information anywhere for this. Are these just freebie quests that can be done while nothing else is available? Such as the Upgrading of a station, the Upgrade of the Fort, or Lifestyle improvement?

Yeah I found that as well, it was full of speculation that it “should” reduce town upkeep. I know it’s not actually reducing any upkeep and not sure if it’s another known issue etc. Thanks for sharing though.

When corruption attacks a town and wins you get a bunch of crafting tables downgraded. The upkeep builds them back up

If you don’t do them the town will fall over. Esp risky in Cutlass Keys, that hill is steep!!

Nah nah, I’m just kidding, but it’d be nice to have officials weigh in on this.
