What most of us are thinking

I agree with this. It is either that or the game will die completely and shut down. The folks still playing the game that enjoy it should hope for this also. I highly doubt AGS will continue to develop and support a game that is generating no income. Or will they run this game in the red year after year?..

Its generating income, maybe not at the levels it did a few months ago, but based on the amount of people I see with the skins each month (My self included) there is still money coming in.

I finally broke down and bought a second copy of the game so I can have an alt on the same server last night as well. There are new players coming in each day, again just not at the same level as before.

I mean, it is based in the US, but they run international programming on a separate network for viewers in other counties from bureaus across the globe (simulcasted with US programming sometimes). But Christian Amanpour and Clarissa Ward are the two Chief International Corespondents and have individually been awarded with several awards and are generally regarded as two of the best international news correspondents in recent history regardless of network. I believe both have won Peabody Awards among dozens of other accolades. I mean compared to BBC World’s criticisms it’s pretty light, I think the BBC has a whole Wikipedia page devoted to controversies - not that you may like the BBC.

I have a pretty healthy amount of skepticism when it comes to mainstream media. I think they perpetuate and even instigate a lot of issues and I fear rarely with pure journalistic intentions. Even on a superficial level they have to sell the news, a deeper look may have greater agenda, but I try not to ponder those too much. Sounds like you’re fairly well read on this. I couldn’t talk about it with you in any great length, but I appreciate the information :+1:

Too late, it wouldn’t help. You’d still end up with a game run by the people that ran this one into the ground.

Months too late, anyway.

I suspect F2P with premium subscription

This game will have like 20k players in 1-2 weeks time! Now is the best time to act!
Go F2P or shut it down and re-release it. Letting it keep going the way it is is gonna kill the game

Pretty much all of this!

They cannot go free to play in its current state. People will see the buggy/desync’ed combat and never come back.

Just because it happened once, does not mean it will happen again. If you want to use that false equivalency, at least use the one that games that have shut down and no one has come back.

dont care what but something needs to happen I have not logged in weeks and I miss the game but unplayable for me as it is now 1300 hours wasted I have MMO PTSD lol

I am always amused by posts that ignore context and draw conclusions from nowhere. Thanks for the laughs.

I will tell you what I am thinking as of today…

AGS cares more about Lost Ark than NW. They have given far more communication, attention, apologies to that game in 5 weeks than NW has had in 6 months. Lost Ark is AGS cash cow.

I don’t have any faith that the NW crew is capable of fixing this game, making it fun and rewarding for everyone, or turning the ship around at all.

I believe NW has a skeleton crew now and at best this game will remain niche with only a few servers per region not too long from now.

I am going to stick around the forums and see it play out but I have zero confidence in AGS when it comes to New World and likely I will never buy another game from them again.

I do believe they were trying to go in a better direction with New World but for me its too little too late. The complete lack of communication while I see LA getting catered too was the final nail for me.

All is said ! :brain:

The game won’t ever run right or be what it could be unless they move to a new engine and start again. It was built on a poor engine with issues, and the code dumped into a similar engine which has major flaws.

Poor Decisions from the top people all about the $$$. For them the money made is a success, if the Store doesn’t bring in enough money to offset the wages of the dev team, the team will be made smaller.

Move on, play another game. Enjoy life.

That’s where it is now

So then the best course of action is to work on patching up the game, then giving it a special announcement/deal to draw people back in. And better to just keep the servers running so people can pop in/out as they desire and use the playerbase as quality control so they feel they’re doing the right thing. I really don’t get the constant calling for shutting down the servers.

Thanks for the indictment of the educational system. I am disheartened with the outcome of it.

I echo this sentiment, have loved every minute of my 1700+ HRS in the game. keep it up AGS

Indeed all this.

Such treatment from a company, which want to take place in the first row of gaming industry, deserves the “punishment” of customers. I see it like you and will avoid any product from them. And I realy dont blame the devs for that misery. Imo 100% responsibilty goes to the management.
It is realy sad. NW could have been different and a diamond in the genre, but its just a glittering worthless stone.
Noone will come back, not because they hate NW, but everybody noticed how AGS works.
