Probably from the guy who said he’d get 5% GDP growth and said it would be “very easy” yet never cracked 3.01% but 35% of the country thinks never lied about anything.

Final Fantasy 14 you walnut

Why is everyone who defends this game so angry? Holy shit y’all call critics toxic but you guys are constantly on the offensive and defensive.

He said it’s been suggested to AG multiple times with the success story as a citation.

Other games hitting a late stride are No Man’s Sky. Cyberpunk is an example too. I’ve been told that Witcher 3 was buggy on release and now it’s highly acclaimed. Fallout New Vegas was a bugfest but community patching efforts brought it up. (Fallout has a history of this, actually)

Stop being so negative. Discussion will never happen with someone like you entering it the way you do.

I’m not American so this was a bit too specific for me  CNN’s inability to report accurately is fairly notorious globally, though most mainstream media outlets are the same…

Here’s what I’m thinking.

This game had a bright future 2 years ago when it had a deep combat system, beautiful world, and simplistic UI.

Then they changed it into a theme park MMO and it’s been downhill ever since.

The management at Amazon got scared of the original vision’s chance of success so they appealed to the lowest common denominator.

Meanwhile Elden Ring, a game with a deep combat system, beautiful world, and simple UI, is absolutely thriving.

I tried to tell them all through development, but they chose to ignore.

Listening to theme park MMO players is the fastest way to kill a game.

Sucks.

I am with you on this aswell.

I’m international. CNN international has a great reputation where I’m from among the English-speaking population and ex-pats. I don’t know what English language reports you’re listening to…

United Kingdom. CNN I thought was based in the US it is those reports that are frequently ridiculed for being untrue. Can’t speak for any other broadcasts.

I agree with this. It is either that or the game will die completely and shut down. The folks still playing the game that enjoy it should hope for this also. I highly doubt AGS will continue to develop and support a game that is generating no income. Or will they run this game in the red year after year?..

Its generating income, maybe not at the levels it did a few months ago, but based on the amount of people I see with the skins each month (My self included) there is still money coming in.

I finally broke down and bought a second copy of the game so I can have an alt on the same server last night as well. There are new players coming in each day, again just not at the same level as before.

I mean, it is based in the US, but they run international programming on a separate network for viewers in other counties from bureaus across the globe (simulcasted with US programming sometimes). But Christian Amanpour and Clarissa Ward are the two Chief International Corespondents and have individually been awarded with several awards and are generally regarded as two of the best international news correspondents in recent history regardless of network. I believe both have won Peabody Awards among dozens of other accolades. I mean compared to BBC World’s criticisms it’s pretty light, I think the BBC has a whole Wikipedia page devoted to controversies - not that you may like the BBC.

I have a pretty healthy amount of skepticism when it comes to mainstream media. I think they perpetuate and even instigate a lot of issues and I fear rarely with pure journalistic intentions. Even on a superficial level they have to sell the news, a deeper look may have greater agenda, but I try not to ponder those too much. Sounds like you’re fairly well read on this. I couldn’t talk about it with you in any great length, but I appreciate the information :+1:

Too late, it wouldn’t help. You’d still end up with a game run by the people that ran this one into the ground.

Months too late, anyway.

I suspect F2P with premium subscription

This game will have like 20k players in 1-2 weeks time! Now is the best time to act!
Go F2P or shut it down and re-release it. Letting it keep going the way it is is gonna kill the game

Pretty much all of this!

They cannot go free to play in its current state. People will see the buggy/desync’ed combat and never come back.
