Hi, maybe I made a mistake.
I’ve seen this game listed here https://areweanticheatyet.com/
and I ended up buying it.
I am having issues with EAC when trying to login in a server.
Is it not “supported” on linux?
According to the last post in the thread linked from the page you linked, it stopped working in Linux in June. As far as I know, New World is only officially supported on Windows.
When a site like the one you linked says “supported,” it doesn’t mean that AGS supports it. It means that it’s probably possible to get it to run. However, this is also an unofficial community-supported thing, so someone clearly hasn’t updated that listing in a few months.
I <3 Linux, and love to spend a lot of time in that OS, but for a game like this, you’re 100% better of just putting Windows on a separate partition and running the game there.
thanks for your answer, mate.
Yes, totally understandable that they don’t officially support linux ![]()
I will check if I can get it to work or maybe I will investigate if I can get a refund.
I am not willing to buy a windows licence just for the game,
I imagine that user had other problems, his wouldn’t even load. Probably some driver issue.
Make sure you have the “Proton EasyAntiCheat Runtime” installed on Steam. Another thread said hitting the login button again after getting the EAC error worked as well. I would also check Game.log if none of that works.
This is very likely the answer since it is how it runs on steamdeck.
Just need to search on your steam library for easy anticheat and install the tool.
Game will run after that.
Thanks everyone!
Woot woot! Glad you got it working!
