What the hell are these house tax values?

Another person to add to my ignore list… kissing the developer’s asses is not a good way to make a horrible game better.

U could farm 3 bags with gold per day. What’s the problem with taxes?

that would yield about 400 gold/day for 5 days… giving you about 2000 gold, which doesnt pay the taxes for any decent sized house.

maffs.

Surprise, its mmorpg. Here u need to farm sometimes. Or u could buy a small one

ah yes that ol canard.

Its an MMORPG is a perfect reason to make a game change that annoys the players and benefits exactly nobody.

What an argument! You should be a lawyer.

Thanks for your post! Helpful and clarifying in ways I couldn’t type as I was mad as hell yesterday.

While I acknowledge your point, I have to say I don’t think it goes far enough. Rather than pay these higher (restored) taxes, my happy ass will be leaving New World entirely.

I am poor in the Real World, I don’t need my character to be poor in New World, just so that the useless pvp companies that ‘own’ a territory can have 1,000,000 million gold a week incomes!

If these taxes don’t get dropped PDQ, I’ll not be playing without the progress my character had made over the holidays, what with his three houses. NOT going to pay these taxes is for sure my choice, and if that means going off and playing another game instead of New World, so be it.

I totally in agree on the fact that these house taxes are too high compared to the difficulty of making money. Everyone should own 3 houses for the trophies, let’s say one big and 2 small: 3000 gold a week! Too much of a punishment.

Ja klar wenn man progamer ist und nix anderes macht könnte ich die steuern auch zahlen aber es gibt menschen die haben nicht den ganzen tag zeit um im game zu sein und zu farmen und zu craften

100% agree. I own 2 Tier 2 and 1 Tier 1 House what cost like 1900 gold.
Although i have the time to farm, have the T5 material like Asmodeum to make fast money, i think the majority of the player base haven’t. So give them at least Tier 1 houses for a reasonable fix price.

Tax is too high.
It was first 100%, reduced to 10%. Now they made it 50%.

Very bad move. Should be 20-30% max.
They said they listen to community. I don’t think so.
Big houses are making players cry.

We pay so much taxes in this game…

I agree!

As I’ve stated in a couple of these house tax threads (and there are plenty of them), many players did not realize the tax had ever been reduced, or if they did, they did not realize it was only temporary.

I personally thought they’d reduced the house taxes because they were too high. I’d read the patch notes during downtime, but I was still majorly shocked when I logged back in yesterday.

A lot of players may not have purchased a home prior to the decrease in taxes, and/ or did not know taxes would ever revert to these crazy levels. It turns the game into a job.

My wife and I are among those who began playing after this “rent reduction” I first learned about yesterday. We played hard to afford 3 houses each by farming many hours.

Regardless of whose pockets this gold winds up in this increase is a shocking abuse of casual players who just enjoy the immersion of the game. From now forward when we’re out fighting bots for materials we will have it in the back of our minds that much of our efforts are only going towards making the wealthiest players even richer.

Amazing way to mirror the real world in a game that is supposed to be a “New World”.

This is f… crazy. This is not house tax, that is pure game gold extorsion.

4500 gold per week, with 3 tier 4 houses, at 10% per week taxe rate from totally chaotic companies that just care about ripping players of their hard earned gold. On my world, only one company doesn’t have the house tax at 10%.

Owning houses to save on azoth? For trophies? Is it worth 600+ gold per day? How much azoth vials can 600 gold get me everyday? If I organize myself properly, if I hoard less, maybe it’s not worth it.

In 15 weeks, we will have repaid our houses fully.

In what game design world does that makes sense? I only see one reason: server performance. Maybe managing thousands of active houses every day, which creates external content from the open world, is too much for Amazon servers?

On my world, before this patch, there were 2000 active houses. I’ll be curious to see how many there will be in a week. Cuz I’ll only renew the extorsion on one house, the other two can go … to hell.

And people cry about bots, when companies can simply destroy aspects of a world we enjoy.

I’ve posted about them before.

At 5% - which is what they are currently on my server - owning 3 of the best houses is about 16k monthly. That’s not counting the discount, but it’s going to be a while before that’s at a significant amount for anyone.

Now imagine you’re on a server where they kick it to 10%. You’re paying 32k a month. And that’s not even a gold sink - it’s going to other players. That’s ridiculous. Very few players are going to be both willing and able to pay that much in taxes that frequently.

And it’s pretty prohibitive to move at that point, since you have to give up the 20k investment you bought the house with. On some servers, moving might not even be an option since the taxes might be just as bad everywhere.

They honestly should have just have fixed the range from 2-5%, locked it at 2%, and then allowed adjustment based on other income. For example, if your company pulls in over 500k gold every week from the settlement, then you’re locked at 2% in housing taxes. And if you pull in less, then you can adjust the tax upward. This would incentivize people to go craft and sell at settlements where they had or wanted houses, since it would keep the taxes lower.

To be completely honest I’m not even sure housing taxes should exist. Gold sinks are understandable, but this isn’t a gold sink since it’s going directly to another company. I certainly don’t think they shod be so frequent. 5 days? Who came up with that? It should be 7 at the very least, and once only once or twice a month at most.

I own a territory …and my bank appreciates your business … please pay your taxes heuhrurheurhrhuehyehe

Well said.

My hubby and I also game together, when he is off work. We do the portions of game content we enjoy and/ or have time for.

I understand that the companies need funds to keep the territory upgrades going, but I totally agree that by owning a house we are just making some company rich! I really like your idea of limiting the percentage of tax which could be set, based upon their overall take. ie. if it is one of the bustling main towns, they are making a killing, hence it could be locked.

Why they even call it owning a house in this game? Your not owning your renting with a lifetime lease. Completely moronic system just like every other thing in this game. Poorly thought out by people who are utterly clueless.
