When something major goes down, we’d like to know why. Why was character creation stopped? What was fixed during the downtime? And why is that all we got for this patch day? @Shadow_Fox , you seem to be wanting to communicate a lot. Could we get some answers to this? It feels really dodgy when stuff like this happens. Just like when you turn of TP without saying why (even if you weeks later tell us it is to prevent duping).
I’m hanging by a thread when it comes to this games development/direction, I need tranperancy, and I’m probably not alone in this.
My guess is to try and tackle the number of bot accounts being created currently. Perhaps this is a precursor for the Feb ‘Bugs, bots and bans’ update, or maybe they have an interim solution they’re implementing now.
Could be wrong, but I hope I’m right. These bots are invading the servers in huge numbers atm.
Disabling of a feature followed by an unexpected patch and reenabling of the feature = fix for an exploit involving that feature.
There was an exploit involving character creation. The patch was intended to fix it. Telling players exactly what the exploit was would just cause drama/copycat attempts.
Ofc, they can’t go into specifics, but just liked they 'fessed up regarding TP being shut down due to duping, they could let us know what happened this time as well, just not 2 weeks afterwards.
Also, did they do anything else? Or was that all we got this patch day? If so, why were no bugs adressed? What did they do the past week? One thing this company is lacking is transperancy and comunication. There should be a weekly post about what they’ve been up to past week, and what the next week entails. Because right now, a lot of people are hanging on to the game on a week-by-week basis (if even that), and for each week that passes where we don’t get information about if certain bugs are being loked into, and/or balancing etc, they will keep bleeding players. Giving the information that “next week we will dedicate to deal with the desync issues” would go a long way. If they actually did it that is.
