Or does AGS plan to make these pvp zones in 2028?
Hahahah this is the question everyone forgot to ask.
We all thought they would be a big deal.
Me personally thought they would be a quest hub for daily PvP missions that werent related to influence pushing.
I thought they would have a brand new vendor selling 600gs+ PvP items.
But no… its just a place on the map you will visit once to collect the TP and then NEVER ever go back there.
I feel like 98% of the content that came with the brimstone update was a complete and utter waste of dev resources. They made a bunch of crap you will visit once and spend 5 minutes of your time on or less, and then never revisit it.
Imagine if they would have worked on real content instead of wasting so much of their time on fluff
You need to take them when pushing influence, as it gives a 20% bonus.
So yeah…most people will have been to one.
But I agree, PvP missions should change and it should involve controlling forts and towers instead of mindlessly running around.
wait I think he means the faction headquarters, not the forts. I could be wrong tho
I’m pretty sure he is talking about the new faction hubs or whatever they are called.
Oh, didnt even know that something like that exists haha
They’re called “enclaves”.
I like that factions now have a place for representation.
I like the aesthetics.
I don’t like that there is 0 reason to visit or interact with them.
I don’t like that in Marauders enclave you can’t enter the building.
I think ops point is now proven.
I don’t think he’s talking about Enclaves, there’s no way they can be used as “pvp zones” as he states in his message.
I could envision a faction war around/ in the forts.
The fact is we’re still trying to figure out what the OP was talking about.
The areas called Forts in the game I absolutely agree with you (and I think they already are), the Enclave headquarters mentioned before not so much.
Problem is over time they made factions meaningless. There is no reason to go help your faction at a fort fight unless you’re in one of the guilds that get to enjoy the war or purely bc you just want to for fun.
Now if those forts offered very significant faction wide buffs akin to DAoC realm buffs it could be another story.
Agreed. Although at the same time they can’t be talking about the actual forts since those have been in the game this whole time and actually used for pvp.
So who knows what they are talking about then lol
Factions were a failed concept. Large conglomerates don’t work for casual gameplay: you need too much dedication to a random faction and a too large group of people that are not your friends and you will never interact with.
PvP should have been between 6-8 groups of 5 people facing off 30v30 or in a team deathmatch.
Even as they were in the beginning they were failed because if factions give rewards people will gravitate towards the largest faction making it larger and larger until it becomes uncontested.
They should remove all faction npcs from cities to make it so ae have a reason to visit the forts
please no lol that would just be annoying, more load screens, nonsensical for running influence
but truly it would be great if AGS could respond with what their intention was at all with these enclaves, if it’s only a place to get your quest to join a faction…I don’t get it
I don’t what the point with those forts is either.
They aren’t upgradeable, they have no protection, anyone can enter and just stand on point.
Should have an outer and inner door, rams, trebs, oil and what not and one should be able to port to them as a defender as long as a certain condition is met.
The whole return to Aeternum was a complete waste of resources. The changes they made caused first light to become useless. Those that didn’t make a new character have no reason to visit the new faction HQ. In fact, I have never seen them myself. Some head scratching changes to the landscape too.
