What would make me play and spend money on new world today or in the future

Small arena’s with leaderboards would be an immediate easy fix to retain current players as pvp with 5v5 or less have very little lag and desync at the moment and possibly bring back some of the player base. I had tons of fun doing mock 2v2 and 5v5’s with guild mates with current patch just little incentive to play against the same players over and over again.

Aside from the above which is only a band aid and would only get me to play for a shortwhile below is my list of things that need to be done to bring back a much larger percentage of the player base

  • Fix desync in PVP and other exploits

  • PVP is too clunky when you cast light attacks your stuck in place unless you animation cancel with dodge roll and this just makes pvp unfun for me. Heavy attack feels good you should be locked this does not need changes maybe increase damage slightly because you can be punished easily if you heavy at the wrong time. In regards to animation cancelling It’s doable but my hands hurt after playing for more than a half hour maybe it’s just my age or carpel tunnel the game is hard enough rn when you get spammed by 2 melees staggered and spells don’t even go off I can’t weapon swap the ice block skill shows as going off but doesn’t work sometimes. (This is just my opinion but if they leave cancelling they could at least make pvp feel less clunky in terms of queuing skills maybe speed up the queue a bit) our brains process information faster than our character can react and our character should be able to react in time physically just the animations or delays for networking are like 2x slower than real life LOL

  • Situations or skills that leave zero outplay stun lock, stagger lock, aimbot (more difficult to fix) items or perks that combat being stuck forever or not being able to dodge away skills like grav well that reach past their animation and ice storm( maybe this is desync?)

  • City to City delivery missions that can be intercepted Player 1 takes mission in city A player B can take mission in city B to rob player A but no other players can intervene these could be 1 man or 5 man missions if no player queues up to rob player B PVE mobs could intervene

  • Decrease house taxes majorly or make the current rates be the cost to lease a house but to purchase a house you get low low taxes because you own it??? current prices are how much i pay for an apartment in NY LOL 100-500g is reasonable especially if the game has a full wipe

  • BOP special fishing drops (Trophies etc can be anything but super rare and BOP even special BOP version of crafting ingredients ( would have to block salvage somehow of items crafted with these mats for botters)

  • Decrease ammo weight drastically or allow players to hold like 5-10k ammo in their slots free of weight refilling 1 or two times every day or two is fine you can even add some sort of enchantment or another magic bagslot for ammo bag that decreases weight majorly for the RP aspect

  • Owning city gives perks to farming (rep/etc) maybe extra cooldown on asmo or gearscore increase orbs? or discount buying things there should be ZERO GOLD INCOME from taxes going to the guild owning the area this just blasts all servers with people from low income areas to cheat their asses off and then the people with money to buy skins just quit eventually

  • City upgrades for the city should be paid for with a new special coin received from taxes or some other manner there are many creative ways the devs can go about this even making it so citizens can pay directly for upgrades so the money is only spent of the stations

  • Holding multiple cities at the same time give special perks

  • Holding open world forts give faction rep per x minutes or hour held for those inside the fort (this prevents zergs because there are too many forts to be zerged all at the same time)

  • More nodes of high end resources but spread out

  • List of perks that stack and do not stack

  • Make sure all perks actually work as intended

  • More events like the secret boss mob spawn by killing certain mobs randomness = fun makes the game like lotto when exploring

  • Gypsum should work for any gear at any level if the game does a full wipe why would someone craft hundreds of gear just for it to be wasted there needs to be some alternative to scrapping items for nothing

  • Why have regions like NA if all players can join most NA servers are dominated by chinese, korean, thai, russian, spanish players restrict players based on ping to the servers or region lock if someones ping is greater than 100 or 150 for a period of a month they are on the wrong region and probably causing issues for other players this is seen in older games where people pulled cords for advantage pvp’ing someone with bad ping is painful they warp all over (not to mention most of these players are only playing because this is their job and to sell gold)

  • after hitting major milestone in crafting profession get an item that can guarantee all perks on an item that is BOP i.e. armorsmith could make a perfect chest piece for their spec you could later add this item to the cash shop but limit how many you can buy to 1 per week or few weeks to make it fair to the crafters

These changes would make me come back and continue to buy skins for the game and support it right now it’s too late to fix the gold and mat issue because top guilds have shitloads stockpiled. I’m borderline not willing to come back without a full wipe or new servers that can’t be transferred into with the fixes posted above the game is not fun with professional gold farmers and hackers with a town tax system it needs to be fixed. The only reason I would come back is because I farmed BIS everything or close to BIS other players with not BIS have no incentive to come back when 100 players own all the wealth and can destroy them.

TLDR - small percentage of players hold all of game wealth new people and old people do not want to play a game that is rigged these players abuse hacks such as aimbot, esp, etc. the tax system is broken, pvp is broken in large battles because of lag and desync game needs a full wipe

I agree with everything but the light attack thing. When you use a melee weapon, each light attack naturally moves you forward. With range/mage it makes sense that you can’t move while attacking, you aren’t lunging forward. If you could move while attacking, Melee would be 100% OP. It would be unfair to give only mage/range that advantage. When it works, I feel the combat is great and buttery smooth (when it works, which is about 5% of the time)
However, the desync and delay is horrendous in large scale (10v10+) pvp battles. Half the time im swinging at nothing, the other half im dying from something that never showed up on my screen.

Thanks for the constructive feed back I’d be willing to concede some of my suggested changes light attack is def one that it’s not too horrible. I felt like the last patch made ranged painful in 1v1 mage or bow/gun duels if I wasn’t cancelling animations it was a free hit by them. I think I would be fine with melee having more mobility when light attacking but I could see either range or melee being too broken as you say so maybe it is something better left alone or slightly tweaked in terms of how long you are locked in place while casting light attacks.
