Here we go again. Always the same topic. What should change in the game … “insert nerf LS wildcard”…
Is the damage of LS for a healing “weapon” too high → In my opinion yes
Is the flat healing of LS too high / strong → No!
Is the offhand and the light mobility the problem that heal is some kind of “op” → Yes!
Is that the problem of the LS itself → No!
Life staff needs a bit of a rework more then a blanket nerf. Changing a few abilities to focus on debuff/DoT protection would be a start, and would mitigate reductions in healing output.
Every player whines, in game, in forums or with their friends doesn’t mean they aren’t true PVP players. Usually it’s just venting frustration/ranting on forums, you really don’t need to tell them a solution, just listen to what they’re saying and let them air it all out. After a day or 2, they’ll chill out.
My vision of Tanks are like Tiny in DOTA, or Zac & Maokai from LoL. Doesn’t do burst damage as much but can disrupt the battlefield with strong CC’s and soak up damage. Unfortunately I don’t think it’ll work with NW’s 2 weapon system.
A system like Lost Ark has where you select all of your perks, gear, etc separately for PvP. Retains customization while leveling the playing field for true skill-based combat.
I think I would like to see riposte changed so that in order for it to trigger from a hit you need to facing your attacker, I hate that it triggers if I hit someone in the back. I would change the stun to also only stun either only the person who triggers it or to a cone in front of the player. However I think it’s also bad that the stun can be dodged, I’d make the stun instant and unavoidable. If you trigger a riposte with these changes you should be punished for it.
I can’t judge weapon balancing as I came back jsut a week ago, but can say the diversity is great right now, surely some balancing is needed but it feels way better rn than it used to be!
General changes (very if not most important in my opinion):
Implement seasons and leaderboards, seasonal skins and maybe even titles depending on rank, it is so underrated how important it is to let PvP players flex and show how good they are by implement some special stuff obtainable by no lifing the PvP content
make PvP gear available, right now you can’t aim for any specific drop or equipment, this would be either possible by adding a new rank above the 525 faction gear or by azoth salt (which goes in the right direction but a 1/3 random chance is just to much luck dependend instead of a shop)
get a few more modes and battlegrounds or arena (which probably is planned anyway) with different player amounts, just can implement the classics like TDM and CTF
Arena changes:
make the group finder available for arena and implement elo ratings, starting from whatever, I guess 1500 is the usual thing in any PvP game
OPR changes:
make brute viable again, it should be a bit stronger and faster to get, so that it just exists again
reward strategic plays and map related targets way higher. Like sneaking around mid and getting the farthest point, stuff like this is just logic to get a win but people tend to zerg as its the most rewarding thing to do in terms of points and rank (yes ppl like to be number 1 even though is just a ~20min leaderboard, that’s the flexing nature of PvP)
fitting to that: decrease points rewarded for kills assist etc… by a lot and maybe just push points rewarded for streaks (similar to some FPS mechanics)
let people queue up with selected roles and adjust teams in terms of expertise or “record” player stats and let player with higher winrates play together with lower winrates or against same hight of winrates (matchmaking basically)
Wars/Territory:
I’m not really informed about the problems revolving around wars right now but I was part of a active company on game launch so I played the mode a lot. Honestly I’m fine with the modes beeing available just for the X number of top companies on a server, maybe the war map and principle just should be a PvP battleground aswell because obviously people like it and want to participate in it.
