They’re more like trainees getting experience on their very first MMO
It’s a huge company, a better server with 10K or more slots would save a lot of investment
Yeah, I know. But as I stated, it doesn’t need to be perfect, just need to make it not worth the time for creating bots.
Ohhhh yeah makes sense. No idea why I thought it was naming your bags lol
I just watched 5 Head Survival Gaming’s video and it sent me looking for this post. I agree with all of it.
So many things like alchemist chests giving more than 3 motes or adding in a filter section like the trading post into storage as a quick patch doesnt seem super hard to add in.
Another thing I would like to add is that target dummies that you can craft and put into your house are only for show and you cannot damage them. Please let us be able to attack/show our damage numbers so we can test our builds in our houses
Agree with almost everything OP said.
But for me, the reason I stopped playing is simple. No solo content.
“But is a MMO, why would you want to play a MMO solo?”… This argument is dumb. I like playing with other people. Doesn’t mean I want to play with other people ALL THE TIME.
Besides gathering, boring chest runs and OPR (if you’re lucky)… there isn’t much to do solo in NW. The best loot are locked behind bosses that “require” a group to kill (some of them are soloable, but not practical, because of their huge hp pools). I’m fine with some expeditions or some elite areas being group focused, but currently ALL of them are.
TL;DR. Make most expeditions and open world encounters soloable. To balance this, they need to implement a good HP scaling system, otherwise everything would be steamrolled.
Preview combat and live Open world PvP.
actual MFKING content. Every patch is a sugar coat content release with no actual content. Genuinely SHOCKED it had a 2nd resurgence from FSS because that shit was garbage too. Imagine splitting playerbase on a dying asf game smh and then tells us the reason they cant make cross-server OPR/PVP and new OPR maps is because it will SPLIT COMMUNITY.
LOL GASLIGHT IS REAL DEVS
New World dont need this wall of text. Honestly I wont read it all.
All what New World needs is to start act and do something against AIM-HACK and LOCK-TARGET-HACK (its the same hack in both situations, for what people pay 50$ per month).
No matter how high population will rise, 50k, 70k or 100k+ within 1-2 months it will drop back to 15-25k because people will simply rage quit the game when encountering all the cheaters.
wrong. Games had cheaters since day 1. They will always exist in one form or another.
What the game has not had since day 1 is CONTENT. REPEATABLE CONTENT. If there was a million people playing and a million different things to do, a large majority would NOT notice a cheater here or there because of the population size. The reason everyone is being called a cheater and the issue is so HOT and common now is because there is no content, you see the same 500 players in the same damn OPR map every single day.
This is spot on.
I’m hanging out in the forum because I have no reason to login to the game.
Another pointless exhaustive chest run? No thanks.
Another mutation with no point? No new quests, not fun, no thanks.
Running everywhere? I kinda enjoy this casual game play on the weekend, I find it relaxing, but there’s not much to do out there, anywhere.
for those pitching pvp always on zones… for me that would guarantee me NEVER Coming back and just uninstalling.
me coming back to the game would hinge on taking luck out of flagging and adding that same amount back in thru other means.
and making some of the more impossible rewards at least possible. I want that danged fishbowl and some of the new brimstone recipes that they made more impossible than winning a freaking lottery. I want chase items but dang it a chase item has to be possible. if I run chest runs every day I should get SOMETHING at least once every few weeks to a month. those new recipes weren’t even worth being ultra rare. ultra rare should also be ultra cool.
adding cool rewards to open world stuff would be cool.
ques for dungeons particularly randomized ques across worlds would be a huge draw. i don’t want to make a big deal of finding a group to run something. yeah the hardest stuff keep where it’s at… but for the easier dungeons… don’t make me find a group. just que me up with the right builds. find me a healer tank and dps across all the people playing.
and mounts i know they’re coming but waiting for that.
also they need ACTUALLY fix the whole town owning thing. one of the final straws to me leaving last time was having companies holding me hostage on the qol town buffs because they were too stingy to pay for it. ffs that shouldn’t be a thing. they shouldn’t be getting to have that choice to be greedy or not be greedy. ofc they’re gonna be greedy. take gold out of it. all gold is a gold sink and just goes to upgrading towns. reward the companies separately from gold. there is so much gold in the game. they’re not poor. take gold out of acquiring towns too.
I left in particular because of 1. in order to get ultra rare stuff you need every bit of luck you can muster and it’s STILL impossible to get what you’re looking for and pvp always on is SO Freaking toxic. I don’t need it in my life.
2. I am a crafter and having the towns i have houses in not even choosing qol buffs because they don’t want to shell for it and they don’t care if we pay taxes or not because they’re in a global loot pool is freaking toxic.
3. easy no thought to enter content was limited to chest runs. if you are socially awkward it takes way too much effort to get a group together or find a group for the easier dungeon runs. (i get harder content like mutes needs to have vetting but reg gen? come on… ) most of the time when I want to do something like a dungeon I don’t care which it is. I want fast content I don’t have to think about or wait on. give me a random que that pulls from skirmish to dungeons. whatever people are queing up for and need one more for.
Aww thanks for checking in. Yeah I think they really could make some quick high yield changes to the game for sure.
I also totally agree with the dummies. I actually have a random mega list of things that I think would be cool if you want to check it out. I tried condensing things and focusing them differently in this thread. Wishlist of Changes for New World
Hey, nothing wrong with that. The exciting thing about an MMO is that you can play solo inside a massive world shared with other players. I think people might argue against being able to solo ALL content, but don’t think you are arguing that. I think they should support these players as well. Solo dungeons or a PVE mode where you do an endless mode where it increases in difficulty until you can’t progress anymore would be cool end game content. What’s even cooler is you can design it to be both solo and multiplayer and scale accordingly. Granted that is a large undertaking to get something like that out in the game, it would be cool.
Also, I will say for some running dungeons with other players can be difficult with social anxiety or when there is a great amount of toxicity in a group. So understand that can be really tough for some. In meantime I always recommend finding a really cool company to run with. I could run something and die a million times and have fun or learn alongside someone doing it their first time. For PUB groups unfortunately it can be a rough place to start. That or naked Amrine runs where you start naked and then use whatever is dropped and keep progressive into harder expeditions using what you pick up haha. Stuff like that is so much fun. Randomly went on a tangent sorry haha.
I’ll check it out!

Unfortunately I don’t know too much about these cheats, but I do see a ton of posts on them. It’s tough because it’s the same as with bots. It’s like an arms race. Detecting the cheaters or bots. Then they improve etc etc. Definitely sucks though. I don’t PVP too much so I may have been shielded from it a bit.
CONTENT. REPEATABLE CONTENT.
Yeah, I think this is a big one. I actually didn’t mind the bugs overall as much. MMOs all have some severe growing pains. I do get frustrated when we see old bugs sitting around for a long time though, but we definitely are missing end game loops. Any thoughts you think might be fun and interesting? Anything from other MMOs you have played?
This is spot on.
I’m hanging out in the forum because I have no reason to login to the game.
Also curious if you have any thoughts on what they could add to fill this gap? I’ve always been big on open world content, I think that’s where this game shines and they should lean into that but curious if you have any thoughts.
for those pitching pvp always on zones… for me that would guarantee me NEVER Coming back and just uninstalling.
I think it’s tough because this game really does have a strong split between PVP wants and PVE wants. I think hotspots are a wonderful idea to focus open world PVP into one spot. Otherwise it gets easily diluted. Open World PVP is the pinnacle of PVP but also naturally dilutes itself.
I wonder if you would be okay if the hotspots are not auto flagged though? It gives PVP players somewhere to go and throw down without forcing PVE players into content they don’t want to partake in. I actually hear this a lot and why some players don’t like the PVP flagged bonus.
I want chase items but dang it a chase item has to be possible. if I run chest runs every day I should get SOMETHING at least once every few weeks to a month.
Yeah I feel you. I actually love the idea of chase items because without them there isn’t anything to well chase for. I actually grinded out Canarinos music sheet before I left, then was like… what now haha. So I do appreciate having that thing to chase. If getting BIS gear or the goldensteel schematic was easy to get, then they wouldn’t be as exciting when you do get them. Some games offer a pity system to their loot system to help with this. You may still need to grind 100+ hours for that single item but if you focus grind for it, you will eventually get it. Versus the RNG god saying “no.” For a 1: million item, it’s possible that you can just be so unlucky today you never get it in 10 million kills. I may not be likely for that to happen but you could just be that person. We saw this with that rabbit chest.
That’s why earning tokens during events feels a like better because putting in x time equals y reward. I actually like what they did with the combat trophies, I where you can still get it as a drop, but you won’t ever be that person that grinded for 500 hours and never got it once, have heard these stories. I wonder if they could consider a system like this, but it’s done behind the scenes. Yeah goldensteel shouldn’t be easy, hell even create a 100,000 chest counter or something. Maybe 1,000 hidden counter but you get that loot bucket (so not guaranteed schematic, butsomething rare). Random numbers obviously but something they could consider.
yeah the hardest stuff keep where it’s at… but for the easier dungeons… don’t make me find a group. just que me up with the right builds.
Totally agree with this and give all credit to 5headed for that part of the idea. Even giving the choice to do a lobby versus a quick play queue. That’s what I actually thought it would be in the beginning. Even though it’s a small barrier, for some it’s big enough to keep them from running an expedition. It would be nice.
they need ACTUALLY fix the whole town owning thing
Yeah, I really would like to see territory ownership be more community building based and less focused on the pure financial aspect. But. I also see the other side. PVP on the higher end wouldn’t be a high stakes and rewarding without it. High end companies are crazy dedicated and that’s kinda cool. I do agree with you there and see this asked in so many different ways. To make it so a territory owner cannot negatively impact other players either. They did a good job making it so recipes no longer are based on the level of the station. I think the next thing they need to consider is the buffs. It’s a bad feeling to have everything you need to craft something 595+ but don’t have the buff and that is at the whim of the company owning the town. I’m really hoping they are changing that.
pvp always on is SO Freaking toxic. I don’t need it in my life.
Unfortunately that and even high end PVE can get really toxic. I wouldn’t say it’s purely this game, although game companies can make an impact on these things. It would be cool to see more positive reinforcement mechanics to promote good sportsmanship in the PVP setting, but I’m not sure where they could add that into the game and it definitely isn’t going to be their top priority. That’s where a good company got me really far here. Find wholesome people and stick around em.

Whew think I responded to mostly everything. Had to split up my posts for some reason but it’s like a novel.
This is the only way servers should have ever been implemented.
I hope when the community managers and devs come back from their break they see this post. It feels like they are never on the forums anymore engaging in amazing posts like these that would make the game fun in short term and fix for longer term. They need to fully focus on adding in these fixes and changes.
A very small portion of people care about the story finishing from 25-60, that could take 10 years for all I care. We just need things to do
Also curious if you have any thoughts on what they could add to fill this gap? I’ve always been big on open world content, I think that’s where this game shines and they should lean into that but curious if you have any thoughts.
Check my post history, I’ve said a lot on this topic already.
The community is trying so hard to help make New World a great game, which is sadly proof we’re wasting our time… that’s the developer’s jobs, and if they don’t know what they’re doing and have no one with real MMO experience to lead with a vision, then we’re all wasting our breath.
At least as competitive standard of gameplay as offered by other MMOs. Both PvP and PvE in New World are sub-standard to a few MMOs. The question becomes, why spend money and time on New World over those other MMOs, that is going to offer you a much better PvE and/or PvP experience then New World?
Also, POLICE THE DAMN GAME so the gameplay actually means something.
New World became like that because of ‘nerf this, nerf that’ endless complain.
Whenever new content needed a bit struggle community asked for nerfs, then 1-2 weeks later complained for having nothing to do.
Whenever something didnt drop in first few expeditions or few/couple boss kills community asked to improve drop rate, then again complained for having nothing to do.
Open World PvP is there all the time, the only time when people did PvP it happened during Great Clave PvP missions. But also got nerfed because people complained for being killed by certain company or faction - BUT THIS IS PVP ABOUT!
The whole competition in New World its like not existing! Simply because ‘casuals’ who play 1-2 hours per day want to be on the same progress with players that play the game for 8h+. In any MMO this would make a difference, except New World.
Leaderboards have not been released on LIVE servers and there are people already COMPLAINING how they will get in Leaderboards if they play only 1-2 hours per day … honestly they should never be in any Leaderboard on active servers.
