Since this is a new game full of bugs and exploits, I thought that I would try to communicate said bugs and exploits to the developers. Now there is no ticketing system in the game, as there was with WoW, but fine, I used the forums instead. I used to like the game, defended it heartily and wanted to make sure it improved.
But what is the point of that exactly? No one from the team has ever read my posts or even gave me a copy paste “we will forward this to the developers” reaction. I have several videos and screenshots that I did not even bother posting here anymore as I am so demoralized by the absolute lack of communication.
If I was the only one, then this would suck, ok, I’ll survive, but I am not the only one. Just look at how many forum posts have an orange symbol showing that someone from AGS bothered to involve themselves. The Gold Bug was communicated quite early yesterday and, well, what happened? How many people informed AGS about it and what was their clear feedback? Please don’t link me the posts in “Official News”, because by now we all know that they are just public relations BS that have no impact on the game.
I have died, like others have, to various bugs and just plain bad programming and NOTHING was done about it. We don’t even get any info if these issues have reached AGS and will be fixed in the future. Even if they have a good reason for keeping certain things, I as a player would never know as they do not communicate.
Instead I get a stance and a title, which does me absolutely no good. Players who made it to 60 by using exploits, who are insanely rich thanks to exploits and whose companies control whole servers, thanks to exploits, are just able to continue on as no one at AGS does anything. It seems that this company is so afraid of loosing players that they want to keep them all, at whatever the price.
If this was a new genre, a new type of game and IT, then I would understand. But we have had 20+ years of experience, even academic writing and none of this was taken into consideration.
What reason do I, as an honest, non-exploit-abusing player, have to continue playing and posting here? What would be my motivation when everyone has all the money, all the power and is at max level, for me to struggle through on my own, when Amazon clearly cares nothing about me or my issues? There are so many problems here and many of the fixes we get reflect problems that a majority is not struggling with while at the same time no one faces consequences for behaviour that is clearly against the ToS that we all agreed to.
Why should I join a company if my company or its opponents just use exploits since no one will ever ban them for it? Why should I run around to gather resources in order to level my professions if all the exploiters can just buy their way to max level? What is the point of playing if my achievements will never reach the level of the Cheaters? And why post here if Amazon does not give a damn?
All of these are rhetorical questions, because, well, no one will read this anyway.
