I don’t get angry over games, as I’ve a lot more important things in life to think about. ![]()
I would say that it’s certainly less favourable than what I was hoping for tbh. Ironing out errors in the starting process etc does seem to be a pacifying statement though. Surely these possible errors would be found during beta because that’s what betas are for.
I think the worst thing that’s happening right now is the block on current servers coupled with the additional wait for FSS to be honest. It does seem as though AGS are trying to cripple character creation and limit the player base at every opportunity at present. Are they wanting to funnel people onto PTR or create multiple accts? Whatever it is, it feels as though something is going on behind the scenes.
I have a speculation about that and might be terribly wrong, but here it goes:
(Speculation) The game engine is suboptimal, overall really bad to handle and restictive when it comes to handling player numbers. I feel like its the same as with the inhouse engine of EA “Frostbite” The one that was not up to the task of creating i.e. Dragon Age 4 (in time/faster) or delivering Anthem in a better way.
I remember having read an articel about a dev saying that it was nearly impossible to work with the engine but they had to, cause inhouse, cheap and mandatory.
Just as i recall that Lumberyard really has bad code and thus allowing people to find exploits way more easily.
All of this might be wrong, i cannot link those articles from memory and i do not wish to falsely state things. However as you asked, i feel like the engine is the thing that makes AGS having to work extra hard in order to manage New World.
Aye, cost cutting can be a double edged sword!
I’ve no idea about the ideas that you pose to be honest but, it does seem possible. I think that the size of Amazon doesn’t help. The larger the company, the less connected they are with the community and the more tight lipped they become. Large companies have people receiving large pay packets and those individuals want to protect that above all else! This is one reason I love smaller companies. AAA games are seldom AAA good, whereas indie companies put a lot more love and care into the game imho. Valheim and Satisfactory are 2 such games that spring to mind and ofc No Mans Sky is trying ever harder to deliver.
Lack of communication? WTF, lol. Within 1 month we went from “we think its a great idea” to FSS on Nov 2nd and your complaining about lack of communication? The sense of entitlement is strong in this one…
You all must be new to MMO’s because hardly ever does anything happen this fast. Jesus.
Yes.
Not really.
See, thats where you are wrong to begin with. I get that reading forums seems to be your thing, but you miss crucial information while doing it. In example: I personally brought up FSS back in November 2021. And i wasn’t alone in posting about it. We can say devs knew about the situation for a long time.
So no, we did not went from 1 month to FSS, it was highly likely internally discussed before (apart from people posting about it 11 months ago).
Also, yes lack of communication as i posted previously is a thing and could have been done way better. Just as i stated that i am fine with 2nd November after we got the info.
Thats so funny, you seem to be one that aggressively jumps onto a general sentiment, then labeling ALL people you don’t like under the same conclusion while being so entitled you cannot even acknowledge what was actually discussed / being written.
And your speculation matches your displayed capacity of taking part in discussions.
Your attitude and expression are borderline toxic at this point (previous posts from your rant in other threads) imo.
Yes, that is a fact. Just like other people did at the time. Meaning more than 1 person was thinking about it and wanted to give feedback.
Yes, i read forums. And before you jump further into your next sentiment, i do not care about AGS listening to me. I care about AGS absorbing feedback from a lot of players. There is no gain in it for me other than making the game better, hopefully for many people.
And this is now your sentiment. Wrong conclusion.
It isn’t.
So mounts are on their way from what i gather, maybe next year.
PvP servers i supported as a life skill player = 0 interest in playing on them but supporting people who would love it.
Load outs are coming from what i gather.
Server unlocks; never taken part in those discussions.
Swimming, higher mutations and more content also no further information i could offer you.
Sarcasm won’t help your point.
+1 was confirmed to come for FSS (should have been a dev twitter comment, if i remember correctly)
See, again, you just label me from your past bad experience. I really do not fit your image, like at all. So why not reset that image based on actual written statements and move on.
Hope you can resolve your inner anger, buddy.
You spent this much time breaking down a paragraph into 8 separate replies. Yeah, salty. However, that being said, sorry you had to wait a month to get your FSS experience on. I am excited for it also, but glad they acted as quickly as they did and we will get them so soon.
/cheers
Quit lumping us all together please. We are not a hivemind. I’m extremely happy to wait 2 weeks as it gives them time to sort out any issues with Brimstone Sands, and so they can implement the territory wealth changes and shell company fixes. Should make the server much healthier.
I have never flagged a post, is it satisfying?
So my post was flagged? Good to know. I disagree completely ![]()
Cant wait for topics „ Old players are breaking my game experiance” xd
And honestly, how long do really think it will take for FS to become just like existing servers? It’ll only be a matter of days before a gang of sweaty thugs dominates any given server and SOS all over again. I’m sure we’ll all have fun for a short time but this ain’t the panacea most seem to be hoping for.
LOLOLOL do you know how much this “community” would be raging if they said “10 days or so” LMFAO. You just kidding, right? By the 11th day they would be bringing their pitchforks and torches.
They will never make impatient people happy, it’s impossible by virtue.
Sep 22/23 - Oct 5:
13 days, weird!
I disagree. Lack of patience is my opinion.
Fixing it within 2 weeks of talking about it on the forums is not the same as fixing it within two weeks of occurrence, was there a patch on the 22nd?
Did you read the posts? They literally say that they detected it the same day that they made that post.
Just take your L @_@
Personally I see 2 reasons.

And it’s the major one in my opinion. The Lack of FSS at launch of BSS is probably going to funnel those “extra” people into the reg (legacy servers) which is going to cause queues, and then they are going to roll out MORE legacy servers to make up for the queues, which in turn going to cause a lot more dead servers but it just going to make it even MORE of a cluster when the dust settles.

People on FSS are going to be even further behind and will take most likely a week or two beyond the 2 weeks to enjoy the new content that brought them back… seems like a silly thing to me. Smart play would have been FSS 2 weeks AHEAD of the patch, with ZERO transfers to/from (For a set amount of time to stop resource haulers)
So in a nut shell if imho if they would have done the FSS they would have gotten to do the Halloween event, and had fun (yeah remember we are all here to have FUN) and gotten the servers set up a little bit and AGS would have known they were stable because they are really not any different then the other servers except for no transfer. And they could have released the patch for BSS to all the servers at once vs what they are doing. A lot less people would have been pissy. And let face it, the grinders are going to play the Halloween event and Brimstone get bored of it in 2 weeks then go trash the Fresh start just to be spiteful, because that’s what toxic people do.
It’s not a good look for them. They look completely out of touch with reality.
Yeah I read it, did you?
Nowhere does it say ‘these bugs introduced with today’s patch’ it just says ‘we’ve become aware of X bug And are working on a fix’ which they launched for 13 days later.
Hence why I asked if it was posted on patch day, for all I know this bug was in the game 3 months before they addressed it.
