Developers of this game have not played classic mmo’s like wow, L2, archeage, etc. They have no idea that MMO needs a lot of content and frequent content updates to be an enjyable and lasting game.
They know.
They are just spread too thin between bugs from a broken engine, planned content, and constant meetings/emergency meetings.
The game is in a post-launch live service with an incomplete, broken base game to boot.
Whether or not they can pull multiple comebacks in the third and fourth quarter is the question.
Roadmap shows only a new map, a dungeon and a new weapon, that is all we get till winter. New map for tree chopping? New dungeon for fighting monsters? This game needs new weapon every month, not every 6 months. It also needs naval action, ships and stuff like that. New map for tree chopping is poor content.
Im expecting the wotlk classic to kill new world. So basically new world have a few months to truly do something before the wotlk coming out around september.
If they are smart they will release a new zone, and cut down the expertise system, like every new player will start at 580 or somthing. Also multiple weapon need a complete rework, musket, rapier, hatchet, blunderbuss, skill reworks, scaling reworks etc.
New weapon every month is not possible with the amount of issues the game has.
Introducing new combat variables makes balancing even harder, as each weapon can be used in combination with others creating broken synergies.
Prime example being SnS with everything that has additional CC or burst damage.
SnS realistically can’t be touched until they rework the entire kit from the ground up. Same with Life Staff.
@ OP, this game is already effectively in a coma if not deceased, if you judge by day one numbers to current numbers.
Pretty much left with the cling ons now who might continue playing for years.
A new MMO won’t cause more damage and won’t kill it off- it’s pretty much in niche territory now anyway.
It’s a real shame, as it could have been so much better but some naive decisions regarding towns, funding, pvp and player behaviours etc all contributed to it’s steep decline.
New zone for what? For chopping trees? Game needs new mechanics and a lot of new content. New zone will not make this game any more fun. Game also needs like 30 new weapons, so there are more viable options, not only great axe and hammer.
Look at archeage, there were hundreds of class possibilities, and balance was good. Why you think it’s so hard to achieve with 3 skills for each weapon?
I’m just waiting to launch the TL project and then the ahses of creation.
Exactly, same for me. Lineage 2 and archeage were my favourite games, and ashes of creation is inspired by both of those games. Also, TL is Lineage 3. And i heard that archeage 2 might release this year.
@Makslinieks You are really considering ArcheAge2 after the last two ArcheAge. That’s equivalent to saying AGS next MMO will be good to buy. After the last 3 or 5 flops from AGS. You are at best naive.
Ya the throughput from AGS dev team is embarrassing to say the least.
I feel like 35/40 devs are actually working on the expansion.
AGS needs to remove all the devs and hire new ones based on experience and not diversity.
archeage at least had many people online and fun content. Doesn’t matter that much that it’s pay to win, because i am not aiming to win. I am aiming to have a great adventure.

Not sure if the list is comprehensive. Have at it.
Each developer has a different role. Some are network engineers and aren’t part of content development. For example.
That is even more embarrassing. They actually have more than 2 devs working on this game?
WTF are they doing for 40 hours a week?
Or are they all working from home doing about 10 hours of work a week?
I mean some are active on the forums. Others not so much.
Not surprising why a good number of them are no shows when it comes to community engagement.
Ships? Lol we can’t even swim. You think they can code ships!?
It takes them 6 months to release a new weapon. I bet we get ships. In 2025
It is probably like most tech companies, where high performers are few and far between and many people are coasting and doing very little.
Great topic. How does it Help here?
