I appreciate that there is a single server merge going on at the moment but I hope that this one is a real life test besides the PTR test on the last version of the PTR.
So it would be awesome if we could get more information on when we can expect wider server merges. Most of the servers are only playable at peak hours which leaves most towns and crafting stations on lower levels and finding groups is almost impossible. On our server I was only able to play OPR on the day it finally got put back into the game.
In the meantime I created a second char on one of the high population EU servers but I doubt that I have the dedication to put all the hours in again.
This right here is why this needs to be a process that should’ve had more preparation behind it. Not only do all the core facets of your game population-dependent, but people have already put hundreds and hundreds of hours into characters and still grinding every day. It’s not a reasonable response to say “go make another character on a higher population realm”
I know they can’t give us an in stone ETA, but jeez could we have a rough estimate? 1 month? 2 months? It can be vague, we’re just sick of sitting in the dark twiddling our thumbs waiting for AGS to take 5-10 minutes out of their day to give us some sort of clarity. It’s quite frustrating.
They can’t inform us of that. Think of what happens after every major thing in the game: A mess. Dupes, errors, bugs, lost characters, houses, accounts, the list goes on.
so there is no point in providing some ETA if they don’t even know how big is the storm that is about to come with the first merge
And it is not a small amount of people who are affected. If we look a the server data on NWDB or New World Status we can see that from the ~200 EU servers 50% of the players are on the top 20 to 30 servers and the other 50% are on the remaining 170 to 180 servers. So my conclusion is that 50% of the players can’t play the game properly.
In my opinion, server merges are the most pressing thing at the moment.
They’ve said they are their top priority but I’ve yet to see that proven. I’m currently playing right now. The realm has 16 people online and might hit 60 during peak time. I really don’t know how they could be so unprepared for something like this.
