hey devs what are you doing, give this man access to your JIRA, he wants live updates, you should give him update every hour instead of focusing on fix, and do not give us updates on timely manner which can be found under dev tracker, or announcement section of forum… its 2021 you should not relax and enjoy time with family! work for us!.. okay now?

It is not just fixing the exploit.
They also HAVE to deal with those who used this exploit for extra items/gold. If they enable the trading post, those duped items or currencies can be distributed around making it harder to trace and dealt with. Those could also just distribute items randomly and have innocents involved on their cheating.
So, even if they had the fix ready, they can’t enable trades yet to control the existing duplicates. Pretty sure once that wave of bans gets done, the trading mechanics will go back to normal.

Ever heard of the fact that forums are used by people to discuss things and suggestions and communicate with each other and sometimes even with the community managers?
The netcode itself is fine. The issue is that the server code is swiss cheese, allowing tons of exploits and adding multiple bugs with every patch.
I highly doubt that the core and client have issues, this is mostly the backend issue allowing dupes of items and gold currently.
The client side bugs are less critical and can be patched weekly.

The game in its current state is not even alpha ready… I just don’t get it. I would think in 2021 software AI would tell you if your coding was conflicting, or plainly just screwed. I guess not…
Anyone else think at least one dev has just up and quit over this mess? I bet it’s got to look like someone kicked over an anthill on their end.
yeah they keeps delaying us till they release the update. I wish this small problem will not longer than week cuz I am starting to hate this game without the market

Because he’s not part of the economy team, and war/PvP is still very much a top priority issue.
Because they are on damage control, and need some “positive outlook” news.
Pretty broad use of the word promise you have there. Nobody promised an update.
So much is wrong with your approach. They can do server updates all day long, it won’t fix the issue unless they actually find the broken code that is allowing the exploit. Then they have to correct the broken code or write new code to patch it, all of which requires testing to make sure it works. Then and only then can the update be sent to the server. This isn’t a question of “modern server structure” (which by the way is hardware, this issue is software based). Once you have some idea of how programming code works - it is that hard.
