Well…if it’s going to be like hatchet after this patch then I don’t mind.
But they did say there would be throwing involved. Whose to say that you cant stealth and hit someone with a powerful throwing ability, so perhaps there won’t be any kind of immunity to damage while stealthed. Or perhaps the stealth isn’t actually a skill but some kind of passive with a long CD like defy death.
Just look at the rogues that have Daggers, a dashing slicing ability, a ranged throw and a move kind of like raging torrent.
in patch 1.2 the void gauntlet had the ability to dart forward by combining a well timed spell cast during the void blade’s lunge. it allowed players to dash from roof to roof in Myrkgard and in some places with close together spires where you could actually dash across the chasm in shattered mountain making it the most fun weapon in the game. people got jealous and yelled EXPLOIT!!! without thinking, “hey if we all asked for additional abilities by combining our weapons too, we would have a better more complex combat system.” it was our best chance of having an assassin class and was thwarted because people are dumb.
Sure, we can make some assumptions. Mobs have similar skills to players somewhat.
But they also do a lot of things that players don’t do.
Angry earth hammer bois have a spin attack. Corrupted spearmen have that crazy jump multihitting attack, etc, angry earth archers have a snare trap, etc.
Angry earth have a 2h club but yeah, not all inclusive but it’s a good start.
both mage and bruiser can 100% solo kill, just depends on WHAT. A healer, probably not unless the bruiser stunlocks correctly or the mage bursts perfectly. But everything else, I 100% say with absolute certainty that they can solo

The amount of weaken countering empower not even counting oblivion cancelling empower is much greater in a coordinated ally.
Rend is barely stackable to give enough rend to bring anyone to a level of more effective damage unless you’re in a garbage war with trash gear everywhere.
DR’s and freedom make these, “Stun-Locks,” less effective than they should be and a healer that doesn’t have any freedom probably has shirking fort through Sagacious and dodging one attack can grant them 60% ABS fast, stun lock them all you want, DR’s will let them live and Shirking Fort will make sure they live. Unless you run schizo which won’t stun-lock anything after the next patch.
A mage should never be able to solo kill anyone unless their group healer is trash.

Oh, 3v3’s… Yeah, mage and bruiser can solo anything but these runny Dex boys and rapier crutchers.
Depending on mage, they can 1v1 anything.
Game already has built-in stealth mechanics (crouch/crawl), and most players lack situational awareness making it extremely effective.
We don’t need magical invisibility and they’re already killing the assassin build next patch.
What benefit could such a concept bring to the game?

99% sure its going to be a silence. its just not utilized at all in pvp.

daggers are probably going to be slicer stuff though
so a zoop, feral rush and throwing daggers 99% sure.
Since i saw the last dev video i understood that they dont want any kind of combo builds in the game, and this is the basic for any kind of assassin/( rogue) style. For me dont make sense this kind of movement because assassin exist in most part of the mmo and almost all of them can handle with it.
If someone can be hitted from behind without any kind of steath move or skills ( that is the moment of the game right now), the player hitted from behind must be punished by this error( positioning and lack of “battle sense”).
I saw a lot of voids from many players and many YT and is very normal players that play with the camera terrible close to the char and dont have to worry about back atacks and about what is happening in the battlefiend., For me seen like it is is easier for AGS nerf( we can say kill here) the assassin build where we(sins) must find the perfect time, the perfect positioning ( in lagged environments) to do damage than punish players that cannot play with a camera little far or players than have “tunnel vision” and cannot look the battlefiend while do other activities.
In the past months, as assassin i could observe that the good guilds and good players already know how counter assassins and are doing everyday better on that and the nerf is no more requered in my personal opinion, but the game is not balanced based in players that know what they are doing but for casual players that just want to hit and run.
I know that die in a combo can be frustrating but players with heavy armor rarely will die for it, players with mid armor rarely will die for it, and players in light with good game sense and no 5-50 cons build can survive with rapier, ice or other defensive tools. Plus to it most part of players dont use perks for less stun or potions or other mecanics to avoid the damage, they simple die and cry.
For me is very sad that a entire role and build will be killed with the new patch without any kind of talk with the comunity. I know that balance assassin`s builds normally are complex in mmo but this is something that NW will have to face now or in a near future or they keep losing players that like this gamestyle.
The easy way (nerf to the ground) is not a way to balance pvp, but seems like it the balance choice of AGS for now. I really want to that see what they are going to do with weapons like daggers or any other combo that will apper in the future, because assassin`s players will not chance their gamestyle, they will only chance weapons over and over again and the problem will continue until AGS accept the gamestyle or all that kind of players leave the game bringing their friends to others games. Both cases in my pov is a big loss for AGS.

if you look at angry earth wielding the kopesh/daggers the dashes/high mobility could counter rapier leaving rapier needing to riposte at a key moment.
This would also make more counters for ranged and more variety as an assassin class has been an ask for years.
Spear/rapier is the closest thing but poison and more anti-healing would do the game better.
Great sword needs to be a big AoE/single target specialist.
Traditionally in war greatswords were used because they could cleave very well.
To even use a greatsword you had to be a one handed sword master first as using a greatsword meant you were a true swordsman/master swordsman but it offers poking/thrust and big slice damage.
if it functioned as a spear/sword hybrid it would be cool but they are saying it will be a stance weapon. who knows at this point.
anyways assassins should be a thing and daggers need to be in the game sooner than later as the rogue archetype is very common

Any skizo meta is now SnS and hatchet and they even buffing hatchet more lol . AGS is delusional. A group of 3 skiZos had over 130 kills on my war last night , seems balanced let’s nerf bow
First off, schizo is the dumbest name ever for the build. It makes absolutely no sense. The only thing “schizo” about it is the fact that it’s called schizo.
Second, they’re literally killing the build next month. They can buff hatchet all they want, it won’t matter if you don’t get LS->SB. That initiator is the only reason it works. Neither SnS nor hatchet are particularly good on their own.
I was thinking it would be cool if a weapon had an aura that increased stamina usage of enemies in it. A way to penalize the spam rollers who zip around anytime someone gets close; Make them think before pressing buttons. Game needs to create more interesting and dynamic combat choices, which seems to be the opposite of where we’re going right now.
You really underestimate hatchet in this with root / stagger and now they adding an exhaustion ? We will see but that build will still be busted
