Where's the "How to fix input lag" tutorial?

Q: Are you ever going to address this?

Please make sure to add the DxDiag and Gamelogs through a sharing link from a Cloud Storage like Google Drive to the support report, you can pull it following this steps:

DxDiag report:

  • Go to Windows Start search bar and type dxdiag.
  • Click on dxdiag.exe.
  • When green progress bar goes away, select Save All Information and save the file to their desktop.


  • Game logs can be found on: \Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\AGS\New World\CrashDB\reports\

@Wyvernn no offence, but the suggestions listed on the page you’ve linked are incredibly basic. I’ve posted more details than that at least twice:

I opened a ticket using your Contact Us page and never heard back. I’ve been using the same PC and internet connection since the game’s launch. If the lag/desync/input latency was this bad, as it’s been since Brimstone launched, then I would never have spent any time in the game. AGS just doesn’t seem to be addressing the latency issue that so many people are bringing up in numerous threads on the forum.


@Wyvernn I, like most people, know how to google. Your support link was the first of dozens of things I’ve tried. I’m currently trying bandwidth limiting from this thread: Extremely high Input Latency - #253 by Rautenk … One of many threads on this topic that have died without a resolution.

My play time since launch is 882 hours. Until about 3 weeks ago, everything ran perfectly fine. My machine was “top of the line” when I bought it 18 months ago. No other game, application, or anything else I’ve done on this PC has been problematic.

I would much rather spend my time trying to find exploits that result from this severely bugged state than be unpaid QA for AGS. And I’m definitely not interested in being just another of the hundreds of players that have reported this issue only to have their reports closed without a resolution. As a software developer, none of NW’s bugs make any sense to me. It boggles my mind how X can cause Y in this mess.

You (AGS) have more than enough information (from what I’ve researched) to be able to address this. I have no reason but to conclude that the codebase is so terrible that issues like this will never be resolved, and AGS knows this, and therefore must avoid addressing it. The troubleshooting link you provided is pathetic proof of this.

[ Nov 2021 ]: High Latency & Stuttering Issues Suggests to me that maybe some aspect of world boss code could be causing it. Seems to be a spike in reports of input lag last year and this year around the same time. Sure, seems like a long shot, but all bets are off when it comes to “what breaks what” in this game.

Input lag got worse after the latest 14th december update

Is there a protocol or SOP for the timely addressing/updating of things? I would hope/expect that an issue like this that has existed as long as the game’s release and has affected, does affect, and will affect so many people, might have a “goto” individual designated by now. It’s been 3 days since your promise to keep us posted. Should we wait 10 days? 30 days? 18 MORE months?!

As far as my “understanding” is concerned, I understand that many posts on this topic have long since died because NO ONE has been able to resolve this, or even identify what causes it. As far as I can tell, there’s been an 18+ month “delay” in anyone addressing this.

Can we at least get a response on how widespread this issue is? Is it even worth AGS’ time/effort to address it?

  • What’s being done about it?
