Where's the Transparency on Luck?

No how many drops per harvest at each %. The numbers that show there’s a legitimate issue here.

Right now the devs can just dismiss you out of hand as seeing patterns that don’t exist.

If it was just me then I would blame RNG and just say okay thats it. But it’s not just me lol

Or can someone explain how a level 15 in the MB elite zone got not 1 but 2 surveyor tool’s and it shouldnt even be dropping from there?

Luck in this game works differently than how it appears to. 5% additional mining luck does not make you 5% more likely to get a rarer drop. It simply adds 500 to your roll of 1-100,000. So now you have the opportunity to roll 500-100,500.

Luck and RNG is annoying because you could theoretically roll below 100,000 every single time forever. Unless there is a hidden mechanic in this game that increases your odds of a rare drop every time you do not get one. Similar to the HWM system, but it doesn’t appear that way.

For example, this past week I had one night where I mined almost 3000 orichalcum ore and only got 3 tolvium and 5 cinnabar, no gems. The next night I managed to mine 50 orichalcum nodes and received 2 void ore, 10 cinnabar, and around 20 tolvium with plenty of gems.

I would really appreciate from the devs something exactly as OP suggests. Let me see my luck percentage or total luck stat. Beyond anything, it is silly having a +5% luck trait AND a +1000 luck trait in the game. Especially since the math seems to be that the % luck is just +100 per 1%. While the logical math would be that if you had 1000 luck, and had a 5% luck piece, that your luck would now be 1050.

all the answers you need are here: https://bravenw.info/

Lol @angryonion not all of them but thanks

That’s just multiple people suffering from confirmation bias.

Without numbers you’re just a bitchy user.

With number you prove a problem.

Number will get things solved much sooner.

A bitchy user, man what about you, where’s your numbers and your results? You’ve been nothing but a nay sayer this entire time.

How about this, since we are on the numbers roll, put on your harvesting gear, right. Put it on, go eat a 1900 luck mining food and go hit orc nodes. Makes zero sense right, but then I just did that no housing buffs and have now 20 Tolvium and 12 cinnabar more in 20 minutes. Luck is broken and just because it worked out for you however you’re doing it doesnt seem to be working for everyone else.

How about you list out your gear, percent piece by piece and talk about how much you get per hour?

All this could be instantly resolved with a Dev answer, simple.

Though I have an assumption, they don’t even know how it all works, we the users probably have a better idea so they’re like “yeah let’s go with that”

There is definately sth very broken with mining luck.

Adding a basic trophy to the major and minor i used reduced my drops by like 90% at least.

I know this sounds weird but it’s like some of us are reaching a cap and then nothing drops

I also want to know how luck works and if it’s broken or not in the current state.

From what I could gather… as of now… Luck only change the level of items you drop, it will not affect you drop more or less items.

So if you were gonna drop a green item, it will become blue, if you drop a blue, purple, and if purple, you have a chance to pass it to legendary. But that’s all. That’s how a dev explained it in a comment somewhere that I cannot find again.

So… My guess… is that for example, luck is totally useless if you are trying to find artifacts for trophies.

I had also the same feeling as many… Is luck backfiring? The game has some sort of system that will push you to drop more the less of a item you drop. But how does luck affect that part?

It would be very nice if a developer or a community gave us more information!

our world justs got restarted.

FIRST orichalcum i mine 12 tolvium and void ore

maybe the restart fixed it.

I also want to know how luck works!

What would you like to know? New world dB has the required min luck to pull things.

Here’s a generalization

When you kill/loot/gather a 100,000 sided dice is rolled. The higher your roll the better the item you find. Some items require rolls higher than. 100,000.

Each 1% luck adds 100 to your roll.
Gathering trophies add 500/1000/1500 each
Loot luck trophy adds 50/100/150 each.

Does that clear it up some??.. hope it was helpful

to further complicate things lol…certain things drop within a certain range with those numbers. like fae iron for example. Fae iron drops at 101,800 so in theory you will put fae iron on your potential drop table with luck up to +1800 and above, but after that…you are technically REDUCING your fae iron chances by putting other things on the loot table as well. meaning when you go above +2500 luck another “rare” item gets added to the loot table and so even though you have the luck neeeded to get fae iron…you slightly decrease your chances of getting it by also having another item to potentially roll. The best way to get things to drop is to find out the sweet spot that gives you the least other “rare” things to roll against and yet enough luck to reach what you want on your loot table. Hope this made sense…it’s complicated.

True however by adding more to the roll you’re also pushing up your minimal number. I’m not a math whiz but I feel like it should result in more fae?.. I know I get a ton when I do my iron runs lol

someone on reddit killed 1k boars to test if skinning luck is working correctly:

spoiler: it does

we don’t have much data on the other resources so far but we can assume that it also works the same.

An assumption isn’t a fact, again the entire post of mine was based off of an answer of the Devs. You keep providing player’s findings and results when all we need is a response from someone for Devs or a Community manager.

They can respond when there is exploits in a micro-second, or dupes or cheating but they have not given us a definite answer. Like “this is how it is and this is how it should be” that is all from players. So Onion I am glad you are researching it but it doesnt help for the initial post on where the transparency is from a developer of this game. That reddit post was not a developer or anyone tied to AGS it was a player playing the game like you and I.

The other link you have again is just more player done work. Wouldn’t it be simpler to just get a response from a dev on the matter, yet everyone continues to go back and forth and one side says it works while another side says it doesn’t. In the end the player’s can run thousands of statistics and it could all be wrong but we dont know because we dont have an actual answer from the Development team, Game Coders, Designers, nothing. At this point posting a link is becoming more and more annoying if it’s from another player.

I ran today with no luck gear not on a single piece I got more legendary drops for trophies and mid tier than I have ever gotten. Does that sound like the luck system is working, no, not at all. The stat for Luck then for chests and monster drops would then stand to reason in my case and my 10 hour findings of loot runs that luck on you gear doesnt matter anymore.

Just like the reddit post you listed, explain how the bracket is working when I wore no skinning luck gear, no food, no buffs and killed 200 boars getting 70 of each mat, doesnt that seem broken then if you’re running around with gear and with buffs, does to me cause when I put back on all my gear with foods and buffs and did more than 200, I only got 3 of one and 7 of another. Weird right?

Again maybe we need a Dev to answer how that is possible and not your assumptions or other player’s theories. Hard facts from the game creators would be much better at this point.

I think you’re onto something with this…

its purely anecdotal but it seems like the longer a node sits without being tapped the more likely it is to proc the bonus mats. There may also be a bump to the chance for a proc on your first few nodes of a type each day.

Like I said, purely anecdotal.
