I indeed agree that the game is not finished as it is, were basically playing the last beta candidate before a proper release to make a proper comparaison: Most of the game is bug less, some issue concerning mostly late game, and exploit that need to be patched. That’s basically what a final open beta would have been for. The real question is “how fast will it be fixed ?”
Bug fix is going quite fast imo, I encounter fairly few issue that are actually problematic and they’re usually fixed rapidly (Once again, rusher will always spear head the task of finding things that don’t work, so if you’re part of the 5% of player by this point that are 60, of course you’ll find more). Basically it work “quite well”, but we’re indeed given the job to do the final crash test of the game live.
As for bug exploit, those are deserving of bans
Now for the rest :
Content : There was extensive playtesting video online showing EXACTLY what we were in for, the game is a MMO without subscription and a low price for base game, of COURSE the content will be scarce at first and goes up with later expansions. If you’re not smart enough to understand this I have bad news for you.
Balance : Things are actually fairly great right now for a new game, especially considering you’re free to switch build entirely. Of course the game won’t be entirely balanced right now but that’s just impossible to properly balance it before live, no game ever succeed at it.
Economy : The only massive screw up of the dev imo, this was easily foreseable, and easy to fix.

Looks like an Elder Scrolls clone from character look to abilities. Also speak for yourself not others. Looks like you are just trying to justify your Alpha pre-order which is another reason why game developers get away with what they do. People buying games before they are finished. And paying to test. LOL

That’s bs, MOST of it is people enjoying the game while still recognizing and seeing the flaws. There is very little actual ‘white knighting’. There is however a lot of those who can’t accept some like it despite the flaws.
I’m one of those playing until something better comes along myself. I don’t see them fixing the flaws in time to save the game.
I don’t pre-order and never will. I don’t pay to test either. I’ll apply when testing sign up is free only. This is part of the issue, those who are spending on unfinished products this way.

That is them and this is YOU. They have a different opinion that you seem to not be able to comprehend disagrees with yours.
Why do people try so hard to convince each other that something is fun or not fun? Why does everyone assume that their opinion is correct? Fun has no absolute value that can be applied to everyone. Your opinion is just a preference. There is no correct answer.
For example let’s consider swimming? How far can a human swim while wearing metal armor? How far can they swim in a leather trench coat? How far can you swim in your clothes? I’d say swimming in an mmo is unrealistic. I’d say dragons and zombies and laser guns are unrealistic as well. So an opinion might be that no mmo should have swimming while another might be that every mmo needs swimming. Who cares? Let that go.
I am not white knighting here. The game has bugs. The game needs more work. I’m going to play it as long as I’m having fun. It’s a game not my job. When I stop having fun I will move on. We all should move on as soon as we are not having fun. Are you having fun?

Uhm just no ^^. Yeah they deliver new content but a game is finished when all features are in place and working. Take swimming for example or the ammount of weapons ingame. These are the most obvious offenders to see the game isn’t done because a ton of stuff is missing.
Look at all the decimal bugs that are ingame. Flurry weapon mod should heal for 24% of the dmg done and it isn’t. A normal 25 portal gives more money when you close it then a 55 one and so on and so forth.
NOTHING about NW is finished and it’s just a giant construction site and may lead to going freemium or “finish” the way you mentioned above.
Yes you can have a lot of fun with the game but if someone looks at New World without any bias and only at the problems at hand every sane person comes to the conclusion the game isn’t done or polished or feature ready and still under construction to get to a release state.
People who complain regularly are the ones who help things improve. White knights don’t. They only good at bowing down at alter of AGS.

The difference between you and Is that although we both see and understand the myriad problems that currently exist in this game, my opinion is that it’s a good game overall. You understand? You understand that I have the right to say it’s good? You dont get to tell me how to rate the game, you got that?
Let me repeat it one more time - you cant tell people how to rate the game. Calling people “white knights” for expressing their opinions(which may be different than yours) is…get ready for it…

I can read world chat, and these forums…I dont automatically assume that because some people are toxic, that everyone is toxic. I’ve made a few friends already after open world fights, and I find the community pretty nice overall…I dont take a few bad people, and then assume EVERYONE is like that…
I personally think this game is good now. I can play the current content for the next 10 years.
