getting to 60 sure. getting 200 armoring. or furnishing. no. I will not start a new character
I have deleted over 5 characters, several of which were in their 50s and even a couple of 60s.
I’m an MMO player. Have been since Meridian59. It’s not about the character, it’s about the experience and the service.
It has become about the character and that’s kind of what’s wrong with the genre (and why it’s languishing for innovation; you can only make a character as well as the offering supports it).
Anyway.
Yes. I would happily delete my current character (currently 45) to be able to start one on a fresh server when:

All current known issues are validated as resolved on PTR.

We have at least 90 days of content update/patched that do not introduce new ones - yes, that means actual enterprise level quality.

All players with an account registration date between backing and official release receive APPROPRIATELY valuable compensation for their time, effort, and most of all, loyalty through this… interesting… launch. (Seriously, this better be one hella shiny shiny, folks.)
Maybe I’m being too pessimistic, but I would rather play safe then wasting even more time.
It’s been ~2 months since the game launched, and game breaking bugs are still popping…
So yeah, I would rather wait, and then create a 2nd char on a fresh server.

ya, now that i thought about it, especially if you got people trying to break the game all day.
i am taking a break at the moment actually, but can’t wait to get back in. but you are right, it would be better to wait longer than to get through this all over again

I have chars on 4 servers. I started on West Coast because the East Coast beta server I was on and every other East Coast server was like massive queues at launch.
I rolled on an East Coast server around level 45 to test the ping out, and I LOVE the char I made on that server…but the server itself is toxic AF. About 200 or so bitter salty people left on it. Sure, the nodes are uncontested, but dayum. I need to turn off Global before my eyeballs get cancer.
I created another char on one more server East Coast and one more server West Coast just to test the waters. Not sure where I’ll end up, but might be interested in a fresh server because I’m a no-life altoholic.

Having leveled up many 60s since March, I’m not sure.
Probably if ppl I like playing with rerolled, I’d be willing to do it. But only once things are somewhat more settled than they are right now.
Personally, I think the early game from fresh wipes is the funnest aspect of New World. All the territories are up for grabs, there is the race to see which faction can rally enough support to take WW or EF. Crafting is at its highest point (no one has bags or tools). The first offensive and defensive wars with everyone being sub 60.
Also you always something to do that still advances your progression in some way. I think they will figure this aspect out on live at some point, but currently things kind of stagnate at a certain point.

Assume for a minute you didn’t use social media or these forums. You just log in, play the game, log off.
How would you know about the cheating?
Global chat, prices of items suspiciously dropping extremely low, company chat. Tons of things.

So, chat channels (hearsay, rumors, maybe second hand knowledge stuff) and possible changes in prices (which could be caused by things other than cheaters). What are those ton of other things?
Yes a 40k furniture item suddenly selling for 2k is because of other reasons. Stop being daft.

What makes you think a “Fresh Wipe Server” will be 100% without exploits, dupes, cheats…etc…?
