Why are all the gems set to scale with INT?

yeah like a sharp gem that applies bleed and scales with dex or sth like that.

Well, the forums are as bad as the game for organization, so general discussion it is.

gems do scale with either your main stat or int, whichever is highest. there is slash and piercing gems for jewelry at least right

More or less to help int builds with close combat I would imagine, not like we have much melee options outside rapier and that needs a int gem to be effective for that.
But even with only 5 points in int, a melee will still do higher dps with a melee weapon if the gem is fixed to the weakness element of the mob.

Something akin to

Can we see more different types of gems that don’t just work with INT scaling. To make more viable choices regarding focus,strength, Constitution and Dexterity builds.

A good example may be

Earth gem that scales with constitution that allows more threat gained based on the amount of health you have at any given moment.

I.E where 300 con will scale your earth gem threat to 800% while at 200 it will be around 650%.

thats not evne the point if a gem scales with strength u have a viable option taking a ranged weapon as a strength user

gems need to convert 100% damage and have 1 for every stat the current stat system is horribly limiting…why cant i use a ice gaunlet and hammer without gimping myself…so my only options are fire and to a lesser musket, raipier? oh boy the options…dont sell your game as play the way you want and then dont let us do that efficently…poor design

no 100% scaling on a gem would be bad why would u even have to skill int or focus or whatever

They scale either with the weapon’s base damage or INT, whichever is highest. Not your main stat.

I agree, there are not enough gems in NW. To increase diversity of builds they could make gems closer to cards in Ragnarok Online. We could have almost unlimited possibilities.

for your main weapon. if i main ice or fire, and i want to use a hammer or spear its a bad idea as the scaling is subpar, so my option is to use fire and ice instead of say fire and spear or feel the low scaling. if the gem made said spear 100% scaling on the element of my choosing it would then be a intel weapon for use in combination with other intel items otherwise even 50% isnt enough to be worth not using just intel main weapons. which is horribly limiting.

the whole weapon stat idea is bad for this game design each stat needs to add 1:1 damage with a passive effect of some kind to seperate them meaning i could go full dex or full str with a ice gauntlet and still do same damage but different passive effects for different play styles, yes rebalance bubs and per point for each stat but you should get the basic idea

1:1 damage so no matter the stat each weapons works with each stat
dex .25% attack speed per point, movement speed bonus
str .2% more damage , stability bonus
intel, .25% crit damage, mana bonus/regen
focus .1% cooldown reduction, healing bonus
con .25% stamina , addition damage reduction bonus
balance along those rough lines

ye sorry…i got confused, think the trinket things are also perks not gems

Honestly, I dont know how to change weapons or gear, as all my stuff has to use focus to work. I am using the faction hatchet, with focus gem, same with all my gear, is that my only real option?

You really don’t want GA to have a gem that scales with strength or con do you?
