The evidence shows us they ban SOME of the dupers. Others, for some jaw dropping reason, are given 24 hours instead. The community would love to know why these people arent perma banned, but they wont tell us.
That’s just 1 single instance, one single example. You do know there are other ways, right?
Furthermore, Ags has Assured us that such a thing wouldn’t happen again because the game is not Client authoritative. Yet Client authoritative-like exploits keep appearing nonstop.
You do know that you are playing with hundreds of thousands of Human Beings, right? You know, the creatures that are emotional and unpredictable and erratic and illogical and malicious… Should I go on?
Just how old are you… Jesh…
Have you posted the proof?
You’re also asking for “proof” in several threads - but to cut it short:
Noone should show proofs or anything on these forums. The last thing this game needs is more reddit, youtube and twitter fly arounds about halfstory truths/proofs.
If anyone has “proof” they should be reported - not discussed and spread further here.
Random dweebs making claims on the internet isn’t documentation. Just thought you should know.
or more importantly, why are dupers getting banned at all? In 20 years of MMO history, until NOW, this is the only way of HANDLING anything by professional MMO’s that I’ve seen:
- Ban no one, ever.
- Are their imbalance issues? => hand these to the weekly guy.
- Are their exploits? REWARD those finding them, if true, & fix them accordingly (notice FIX; not BAN, like wtf)
- Are their farmers? follow the international mmo protocol, which is also now the one in America and Germany (80% of farmers to keep China & Russia running, and 20% banned if account new).
- Are their communications of clear harm or intimidation? Ban by appropriate time period, commensurate with severity.
name ANY successful mmo that doesn’t do this. I’m getting my wallet out right now, cuz I’ll put money on this any day of the week. The devs are doing something completely new and the whiners are having a field day, almost as if the whining IS the game. Sadly, the very players not whining, many of which have no idea what the hell all these exploits, bugs, and other (95 times out of 100) made-up crap is everyone’s talking about, and which at one point made up 85% of New World’s highly hopeful player-base, are either punished collaterally or by the stability, or excitement, of the game itself, yet having another thing like trade suddenly thrown in the garbage for days on end. The LENGTHS are amazing though. The lengths these whiners go to; showing COMPLETELY NORMAL streams as evidence of exploits winning wars and God knows what else; there’s even these 3 guys at MIT in the midst of publishing “New World: the game destroyed by bugs it never had.”
Update:
Think about the implications when you know not having authoritative may mean you can perform no permanent fix to this problem, so will broad permanent bans really be a sustainable answer? The other options is giving them warnings and time periods, because the issue is the format of the way your game was released, and that, in all likelihood, you’re doing this as a necessary workaround to fixing the problem, which maybe, without Authoritative, is not fixable.
I want to save this game, but it will take a side project from your company using Authoritative; the remake is maybe 3 months; optimization 1-2 yrs, and it may need subscription, depending on cost. Meanwhile, broad sweeps of permanent punishment may not be the best answer. Assuming it seems punishment is ALL you can do until then, a tiered system may be best. If you’re to retain base, a tiered punishment system may buy time if these are problems that simply cannot be fixed server side, due to the non-Authoritative issues. I’ll maybe address better later. Got to go to an appointment.
Its Amazon, how are you so naive to believe a company like that still has their hands clean in all this. Sometimes all the proof you need comes from the greedy companies name
Wait…are you suggesting that somehow Amazon organized a group of people to dupe items, flood the in game economy with money, and then did not ban them because it was all an inside job?
You one of those flat earther, anti vaxer, 911 was an inside job, and the holocaust did not happen types aren’t you?
If you don’t believe what the devs officially state, this game isn’t for you.
They just permanently banned 2500 people.
It’s in the devblog.
More shitposting is unnecessary
Devs have been wrong dozens of times, so I’m not sure why you’d bring that up… Just look at when they said that drop chances were working properly in launch week, or when they said that drop chances of loot from chests were equal to chanes from drops off kills. There’s too many times to list here…
You don’t ban your core user base?
Not to metnion, anonymous in this case.
yup and real player got a lot false ban, even my friend on eden getting ban he never sell coin not boting also only have 15 hour play time. @Luxendra
“My friend never did anything wrong “
…. Except all the shit he did wrong. Every dupe and exploit and attempt are traceable, traceable and verifiable. If he was part of the last round of bans I doubt what he did wrong was “nothing”
Usually the 24 hr ban is to give them time to fully investigate/remove the gains of what they received. Least with other mmos. If a longer ban is warranted then they will issue it. It has nothing to do with “statistics” honestly i laugh at the people who claim nw is dead ext. Player bases rise and fall as people grow bored or find new interest. Once new content comes out it will spike yet again.
It’s very simple why people generally do not get banned longer right away. It’s the reason why something like the death penalty should never be used.
People make mistakes ánd people abuse.
That’s all. 3 strike system is fair and yes, you could get away from duping things the first time and only get a 24hrs ban. You’ll be ethically flawed and a lot of people will do it, but it’s the compromise we need to make.
(ps. Because something is possible, does not mean it’s the right thing to do)
