Why are people getting banned for creating characters to check other worlds to transfer to?

Please we need a response. I’ve combed through this forum with so many people saying this is happening to them and their friends.

My friends and I are looking for a server to transfer to, with the free server transfer you provide. We had to use third party websites to even know the population of other worlds. And the only way to know if the server is in good health faction wise is to create a new character to check it. So it stands to reason you check the world you want to transfer to so you don’t transfer to a completely 1 sided server or a server where your faction is not just the underdog, but non-existent. Which happens in many servers.

So now my friends are banned for doing that, making characters just to get through tutorial and look at the state of the map. They delete them after and go to check the next world, they use the same name since making new names is annoying because they are global. They did this like 3-4 times to check the servers we had an eye on. Why is this counted as “cheating”, how is this cheating in the first place???

Why are they banned?

I’m afraid for them, reading the forums where people get no reply or just get a reply saying they deserve it when they truly don’t is very discouraging. They haven’t got a reply to their tickets yet so we’ll see.

I think they dont know how to fix that explot of spamm facke accounts… So they decide to disable it asap. Dont know why they just arent ban LICENCE KEYS of cheaters/etc.

I am thinking like Zaerick. Bots create low-level characters and then spam chat, then delete and create new, so I would bet they triggered their newest version of anti-bot measures. I wish you the best on your friends’ issues.

I feel you. My wife had the exact same situation happen has your friends and has spent hours with phone and live chat just to try to get some answers. This morning we finally got a CS rep to confirm that this was an in-game glitch that they are aware of. She is still waiting for someone to unban her account however… this needs some acknowledgement for all the people getting wrongly accused of cheating. @Luxendra @NW_Mugsy @TrevzorFTW

We need transparency on this, it’s not ok to have 5% or more of your playerbase get auto-banned for doing nothing wrong because the auto-ban triggers were set too strictly.
Players who spent their money and honest hours on this game are getting banned for no real reason.

Hello, I will investigate with the moderation team, but if you feel you have been wrongly banned you will need to use the Support appeal process. They are the only folks with the tools to review your account behavior and see the records on why a ban was issued.

Thank you Mugsy for acknowledging this. It’s a really frustrating process to have to go through when you are autobanned like this and then have to wait 24-48 hours to even get a response from the moderators.

It does sound like maybe you were netted for bot account behavior. What are some of the character names involved?

This happened on my wife’s account yesterday. Her main character is named Cosmic Teapot however, the character that she made and deleted to check other servers was Taia. Thank you for checking these as she can’t post here due to the ban.

It would be nice if you could see the map data when clicking on the server before joining. I also made an alt to check about 10 new servers to transfer to, guess I should be expecting a ban soon? YIKES Amazon… YIKES…

It’s not a Steam family account by any chance? Those are banned now.

it’s not, we have our own separate steam accounts and game accounts. This seems to be specifically related to making multiple characters (in our case to check other servers) in a specific period of time.

Was just told about this site https://nwmaps.info/ that has map info and they apparently have a discord bot that will tell you pop and queue…

Hi @NW_Mugsy any updates on this one? We’ve all submitted ban appeals but going on 24 hours with no response.

My friends’ names are Gorilla76 and LordDojo , they submitted appeals, I hope this can be resolved soon, thank you for replying.

Hi, we are experiencing the same issue. Actually, our friend Name : Degoo on Lyonesse got a ban after creating new characters on different servers (the same name : Xclik). This was in order to choose where we will transfer. We are really disgusted and if he is not unbanned, we will stop the game and we are 10 players.

why not post server faction balance #'s and territory ownership maps for all servers and there is no need for people to create chars to check other servers…

I was thinking i would do the same thing as my server has huge faction imbalance with 1 faction holding 8 territories while my faction has 1, and the other has 2…
