Why are people poor?

you realize once everyone has their best weapon with gems your sales go to zero right? 5k/day at 60 is incorrect, once the trade posts are linked you will be in a race to the bottom with undercutting winning the day and things selling for less than the mats (well this is already true)

Only way to consistently make money is to sell tier 1 items for people to grind with, and once they have the skills they will stop buying it. You have blinders on “I am ok so everyone else should be too”… if everyone did what you did then your gems would be selling for pennies on the dollar.

I’m sure every server has its own quirks. https://www.reddit.com/r/newworldgame/comments/qpf54l/whats_changed_in_the_economy_the_past_two_weeks/
Here’s the link to the person’s tracking

I was on one of the largest EU servers last week, since release date, I had made quite a bit of gold ingame (About 140k) with bags etc.

But after about two weeks, the dupes started happening. Companies got bigger, and stronger and were able to takeover the entire map, set taxes as high as they wanted etc.

Only a handful got banned from that dupe banwave, but there is still 100s of millions of gold in that server that was bought in via duping.

Now everything is cheap, and the rich get richer, the poor struggle every day and have to grind 30 - 45 minute matches in Outpost Rush in the endgame to get a small amount of gold.

Meanwhile, the big companies, sell voidbent for 45k a piece, selling ridiculous items for huge amounts of money that no one can afford unless they had been gifted money or took advantage of the early release days with armouring/crafting bags.

Put it from a new players perspective, they grind to 60, probably being absolutely poor by the time they hit 60, they then join outpost rush and start looking at better gear for themselves.

A ring ? 20k, chestpiece ? 35K. They calculate how many times they have to run outpost rush…and then quit.

I like how each server has its own economy but without a doubt there needs to be more ways to gain money. Maybe they should of introduced a house rent system.

Where you can open a list of peoples houses that are up for rent, and if they have 5 trophys in it, you can rent it and get those benefits for the rental time, obviously taxes included but the house owner then gets some of their money back from the money sink of house purchasing.

I have 200 cooking and almost all the top recipes, but the damn +40 stat food take legendary mats you might get 1 per day farming 8 hours lol, none for sale on trading post.

I got the skinning outfit and can go kill animals to get the +30 stat foods and +1900 luck foods, but its like 1k gold per hour doing mind numbing work. Compared to gold sellers charging $1.96/1k gold you’re getting way under min wage for mind numbing work.

Camping this 64 elite I got 8 pairs of cooking pants, they’re listed at 100g nobody buying.

Have scarhide and smolderhide listed at 25g each all week haven’t sold a single one.

Can make around 1k/hour mining but its boring af iron ingots sell for 0.5g each, big money there /s

Last night there was 596 mob dropped weapons for 330g kicking myself for not buying. Thats next to some crafted item the poor sucker is trying to get 8k for.

Half of my gold is invested into leveling professions and the other half is wasted on taxes, which leaves nothing for me to have fun with

people are poor because companies are rich

Didn’t exploit hard and early, my 24 hour ban would be over now and still have 100k in the bank…

damn, I make that mistake in most mmo’s

this is what I do.
Oh I need a couple thou, np just do some OPR, and grind some mats while waiting on queue.
Undercut by 1 and list raw mats, Yay money, oh hey OPR started, guess I’ll make a cool 350g from that. rinse repeat. sell some 550+ gear on market looky there another 1k.

I mean are you even playing the game if you haven’t made 10k on water ? lol

My income has been dropping lately. Was getting around a couple thousand plus a day for a while. Now with population drop and less time to play I am making a few hundred to breaking even.

ofc GS is random. that’s why there is a progress bar at the top right of your window. 595-600 mean you only have 20% chance to have a legendary 600gs. people value BiS so you won’t have as much RoI on a 595 epic armor, they want a better voidbent.
on top of that you can only use 1 mod, which is only 1/4 of what you’ll need (attribute + 3 perks).

just for example with price on my server. all the price if you want 1 try at a heavy ori glove:

6 asmodeum: 600 * 6 = 3’600g
2 runic leather: 300 * 2 = 600g
1 phoenixweave: 550 * 1 = 550g
1 mod: ~100g
= 4’850g (ignoring azoth and food)

and all this doesn’t take into account the fees you have to pay for crafting, trading post, rent, etc…

I think you’re just lucky to be on a server where stuff have value because orichalcum pickaxe ~530GS with yield goes for 250-300g on mine and starmetal tools are just worthless

maybe some other professions can be profitable but most are not

Yea and you can minimize that randomness with gear sets/trophies, better materials and buffs. When I craft Ori tools right now it isn’t some big random range. It’s either 532 or 533. I removed the randomness of GS through other means, then removed the random perk with an item. That was my point. You can craft great items all the time that will sell and catch a high price tag.

I have a 533 pickaxe listed for 395g and I sold one for 2300g and have one listed still for 4995g recently. The difference is perks and fetch a vastly different price tag. 590-600GS pickaxes with perfect perks are going for 10-15k.

Any Ori tool with Rare% and Yield should be getting 2k+ and I saw someone list tools with this perk combo for 400 and immediately bought them. Then listed them at what they are worth at 2500 range along with my tools I made. They sold.

Everyone wants tools that have Rare% and Yield since Yield is as important as rare. This perk combo increases the price dramatically. Add in Azoth as a 3rd and triple yahtzee with huge profit.

I am on a super busy server though with a Que which means a lot of people craft junk and you just have to craft good items that will sell at high prices.

That’s wild, on my server I can’t get 25g for smolderhide, I farmed a bunch.

sry mybad. was talking about runic leather, not smolderhide

The consumption is time gated, one player can only craft 10 runic leather per day. Supposed to spread the consumption out between players but it doesn’t do that in practice.

Why do you take my comment personally?
A no life is someone who has no time for work, wife and children because his time is spent in video games.

And I don’t have anything against no-lifers, I just think that a “general public” game should be playable for two hours a day.

This problem would be solved if the economy would allow to buy (part of) its crafting items.

I didn’t understand why you are “even suprised that I’am playing this game” ?

Got any proof that you “make 5k per day minimum” or just words?

Show us what you do, stop crying that people are giving forum feedback.

They are all Pros and do not need to prove their words.
Their the only one who kows to make Money.
And all other ppls in the World are scum and so the do not care the truth.

So every person on the server could earn 5k per day if they just learned how to craft? Where would the 10 million gold a day to support that claim come from?

Exactly right. The typical player should be able to go through the game generating enough personal wealth to support the costs and expenses the game imposes, without joining the merchant classes.

In an enjoyable game, they would also gradually accumulate wealth while just playing. This isn’t some big 4x space game where everything comes down to constant trade.

Or, now this may a foreign concept to you. Others may find playing a game a few hours a day a very enjoyable life time value. Just be auae you seem to insinuate that it isn’t valuable doesn’t mean it’s like that for everyone else.

It is playable by the general public, but why can’t there be things that would be for someone who plays more?
