Why are people trying to join full servers?

That’s the problem with having 2k caps. It’s just too low. I think it’s low both because of the server technical limits AND because jamming more people than that into the low level zones makes the game extremely irritating for everyone to play (mobs and resources become a real PITA). I am guessing that they will relax the caps a bit once they see more players on those servers leveling out of the sub 30 areas, and then they can lift the cap a bit since players are more spread out among the zones by then. But until then, it’s just a very low cap. And in the EU, people already did create on what were very low pop servers yesterday PM in EU that quickly became full servers with 2k+ queues, simply because there wasn’t enough capacity overall for EU until an hour or so ago (and even now there is a lack, just a smaller one).

Bottom line is that anyone on those servers who has a character over level 10-15 is not going to want to reroll, both because they don’t want to lose their effort (some people who managed to play 10+ hours before getting DCd or what have you have crafting and gathering skills that are 100+ already … they don’t want to re-roll that. So they are not going to move. Also players who are in 100-man guilds are not generally going to re-roll. Players who have a group of 10 friends on one of the packed servers are also not going to re-roll. And so on.

Re-rolling works for players who are more lone wolf, or who have 1-2 people they play with, and who also did not manage to get significant advancement on their character in the time they were able to play before getting caught up in endless queues. Most of the other players … won’t budge unless they are given assurances that they will be able to come back when they like (i.e, go to low level server to powerlevel and then transfer back to megapop server).

God forbid you pick a server with like 5 big streamer on it. If I knew all of Twitch was on my server I would have picked another one. When are the server changes allowed?

Maybe the solution is adding additional channels to the existing servers, instead of entire new servers?

They are already planning on merging servers when they become low pop…

Just have for example Asgard #1 #2 #3 with 2k each, in a week or two start merging them into a 6k server

Yes that would have been a good idea to do. It won’t help in the short-term with the current issues (too long to implement), but it would make sense to do it anyway I think, because some of these servers that have 25k more people than can fit on them, for example, will need something like that well after the launch rush, so, yes, it would make sense.

The servers are low-medium because they were literally started 2 hours ago…

Heres the thing. All these mmos with exception of wow. Have a massive drop after a month. Those who stick with it dont want to be stuck in a dead server. And most the time game companies take to long to merge those so peopme are stuck in dead servers.

WE need the server transfers like yesterday.

Maybe we all have played WoW long enough to have PTSD. In two weeks all the other easy to get in servers will be one faction dead and unorganized.

This is a player driven community game I believe they called it. 120 days locked into your faction. 2 weeks of free server transfers. Mass communities organizing on discord prior to picking servers… …

Do you really expect different in 2021?

Maybe they have friends there? Maybe their guild formed there? I have a number of members of my guild (Company) who have not yet been able to get into the game. Consider yourself lucky and maybe don’t pass judgement on others. They aren’t idiots. They just want to play with people they know.

The minute the NA East servers went live, I played 4 hours straight on Ogygia. Got my n00bie toon to level 12ish.

Logged off to level up my adult skill, ten or so hours later I tried to play again.

Ended up being number 940wtf in queue. Deleted that toon in order to start fresh on one of the newer servers.

Hopefully I won’t have to do that again.

It;s mainly due to all the Twitch streamers. They all want to get a chance of seeing their fav streamer in a video game. And a chance to hold their hands in a virtual world. They bring over some of the mos toxic people i have ever seen…Sequisha and his community have raised taxes to EXTREME in over 4 areas already…there is NO Marauders faction…and syndicate owns about 2 areas…It’s ruining the game and it’s natural organic form.
.

I’m already heavily invested in my server’s economy. I chose my server when it was an extremely low pop server with zero streamers on it about an hour before launch. I got unlucky, because 9 streamers joined at launch and now it’s a top 5 server. But, too late for me to turn back now. I’ve committed to this one with my friends and will just ride out the queues until it gets under control.

I am actually fine with rerolling on a low pop server, I only have 20 hours in my character and restarting would actually work out because I wasted a lot of time leveling weapons I don’t use now… However my friends and company are committed to this server, so I am stuck here until either they get annoyed with the 2k queue, or server transfers are allowed.

A lot of players are desperately trying to play withtheir friends or communities. As communiy leader, this situation is nightmarish to ensure everyone can enjoy the game.
BUT I’m glad aabout the free transfer opportunity. This is the only solution to allow communities to regroup.

I’m NOT leaving Utopia and I’m not waiting for anymore than 20 minutes for a queue. I might be out of the game for awhile.

Yep. That and my entire main part of my guild is indeed on one server and I have played with these guys for ten years. I ain’t going to another server.

Changing Servers is not the answer. My question is eslderscrolls online plays on EU and NA servers I have never had a wait time. Elite Dangerous also in open pve and pvp never had a wait time so why New World?

You guys are talking like there are bunch of empty servers… but ALL servers are full and when i come from work there is on every server queue min 3.000.

It is devs fault, do not say it is not… they knew it will be massive income of players, and there should be enough servers (merged later when player count drops) - that is MMO basic starter pack…

I did not get the change to play yet… because of this, and if i will not be able to play friday/weekend i will refund this and thank you.

Just curious as to why?

Guilds mostly. Our guild settled on a server that we hoped wouldn’t be too busy, but not dead. For a while on launch it was just that, and then the queues started.

The rest of our guild trickled in, with some unable to join until the second day, and a few on the third.

Most people didn’t want to abandon the work they put into their characters so starting over would break up the guild we’d been cultivating for months and there would be no guarantee the same thing wouldn’t happen to the server we went to.

So we’re waiting for transfers and suffering through 3 hour queues on weekdays. Everyone complaining about queues is in for a treat this weekend.
