Exactly how warmane private WoW WoTLK free to play servers work. Best part is they are HD remastered and have no queues/no sub.
They have a simple single line of code that differentiates a PvP from a PVE server.
I don’t have detailed instructions about AGS internal servers and game code
What in stating is fairly common shit that happens with in games and no doubt somewhat would be present in AGS
With out actually being there and seeing what is going on I can’t ever tell anyone what can happen all I can tell you is assumptions
I’m also going to assume what I’ve stated is going to be more correct than you think
I am not sure 100% but wasn’t WOW and Vrising build from ground up as a PVP and PVE server option?
AGS have the numbers from in game (you don’t and neither do I).
AGS know what happened during the development process, why it shifted from PvP to almost all PvE after alpha (you don’t and neither do I).
So you think AGS would ignore the now millions of hours of gameplay data and listen to a few dozen voices on a forum?
Also, people are NOT saying don’t introduce PvP only, they are just pointing out why they haven’t
Yeah, I’m pretty sure what happens with anything with a player attack option it’s fairly easy to swing it around because the option already exists.
We have OPR which enters you into a player attack state and just open world PvP which has a PvP attack state which means there is something turning it on and off and it could just be set to default as on instead default as off.
I know runescapes PvP option it always actually there but the UI just hides player attack options when you right click on something in non PvP areas
1 - you pvp isnt on till you choose a faction so killing newbies wont be a thing,
2 - you respawn back at towns last i checked which you can then azoth portal somewhere else if your town being locked down or you can fight with your faction to push them back
3 - Players in PvP games tend to police themself if you played them when somone makes a mega alliance one always forms to break it back down or they implode on themself cause there no one to kill cause they allied them all and they get bored and then they split and pvp happens again atleast in most games ive played that have PvP and territory control.
Yeah okay why can’t you advocate for them changing that then?
If it doesn’t mean anything to you there is no point in debating us why they can’t change it.
i play with PVP on always, and there is probably lot of other people like that that would like a server with more open world PVP going on, but the community can shape one into PVP if there is demand for it, there is no reason for AGS to make one just for that.
As this didn’t happened so far, the full PVP community is not that big… or we would see an unofficial PVP server at this point…
I don’t really care whether they do or not as I am on mixed PvE servers and I don’t advocate for PvP only servers because I know it is down to AGS to decide, not based on a few people on forums but the data they get from people playing the game.
You can shout all you like on here but the 10,000s of people playing the game will have the last say.
I think fresh start servers will only make sense when the new update comes out.
Current servers that roll out are for countering the queues.
People should realize that and think a bit !
We are having our say you joker, this is called a suggestion.
It’s what people do when they have an idea that people will like with the idea of catching attention from like minded people to show support for it and hoping the devs will catch on to it.
It’s also an added feature not a feature change so no one even loses out.
This doesn’t needed to be voted on, if it gets enough support then they can just damn well add it and the people that wanted can enjoy it
tbh the community cant shape one into a true pvp server. Alot to do with PvP games with open world and territory usualy come down to preventing the enemy faction from getting x resource while you capalise on it, There alot to do with economy when it comes to PvP blocking peopel access to say ori node then allows you to sell what you have at higher rates due to very little players being ablke to undercut you/guild/alliance if people can just chill with PvE flag on it kinda defeats the purpose of resource control as an element of the game which drives alot of PvP and wars over.
Key Resource locations become a warzone/battle field like WW hemp field is highly sort after but it defeats the purpose if somone can just run though unflagged harvesting it all while your fighting off the enemy to hold it urself.
This is what I’m looking for, it would actually be so amazing.
You almost get that then it gets cut off at the knees when some person that isn’t flagged can just roll through everything.
Straight up my most fond memories of WoW was the battle for elemental motes in BC
Well you have made your suggestion, others have told you why they think it would not work and AGS have rejected it (or basically ignored it, same thing).
PvEers are not blaming you for your suggestion but we are being blamed for the lack of implementation.
1 - they are asking PVP always on, so from start
2 - you cant teleport somewhere else because some parts of the game is tied to one location. are you really going to wait for others every time you want to do something in game?
3 - yes they do, and that’s what i was saying we don’t need a PVP server the community will make one if there is a demand for it
I don’t understand why you are still telling us why it can’t happen then and instead saying this looks like something people want, is this possible?
It won’t work, we could have a community PvP server but the problem is you can’t just declare a server the PvP server whilst it’s already populated with mixed players that have the option for on and off.
The advantage of just turning off PvP would pretty much mean you have over world god mode on and are free to farm.
What do you not understand about this decision being down to AGS?
If a PvP only server were to be introduced then I would probably create a character on it just to show that not joining a faction allowed me to PvE on that server ![]()
when the game first came out last year we killed each other every night so much on my server in open world PVP my trade skills didn’t increase for days:)
As this game has a lot of PVE elements, even the hard core PVP players sometimes would like to just farm up for better gear in peace
