Isn’t it more realistic for heavy pl8 to look the same on a man and a woman?
yes and no, just like one chest piece will not fit all men, and has to be adjusted to fit them.
think of it this way… we have a sweet little compact suv and a ram truck, both my hubby and i can drive either or, but since i’m 5’ tall and he’s 5’10", we have to adjust the seat depending on who’s driving.
armour is like that, especially since something like plate is rigid in the real world, that’s why it has adjustable straps or is made very expensively for one person to wear only. it would be say dangerous for a man much more built across the chest to wear plate of someone not… it wouldn’t give the same protection. if the smaller man wore the larger man’s plate, it would compromise his movement, which would again be dangerous.
this is a game that has women wearing plate… so wearing a man’s plate wouldn’t fit if we applied the same real world logic from above.
The entire lack of gender specifics is entirely intentional. They went back through the game and removed “man” from tons of the enemies in order to be gender neutral on purpose. There were enemies named “xxx watchman” and now they’re named “xxx watchperson” and other such things.
Welcome to 2021.
That’s why the store manager in first light is called the personager.
Damn.

Who you calling friend buddy.
okay shirley…
Hahahahahahahahaha
THANK YOU!!!
not appealing and limiting… and while i do have long curly hair in real life… it doesn’t look like wire brush bristles. i left most of that out deliberately though, to not distract from the main points of the other thread. character selection/customization, sucks ass. the skin tones alone make me cringe in horror. i know i could do far better if i had my programs in and i’m rusty as all hell with the programs.
Hello again!! Just to set the record straight, I am advocating FOR more choice in Character Creation, Character Appearance… Guess I Just came off as Kind of being a Jerk. My Point is This is a AAA Title made by one of the Biggest Companies out there. Body Sliders,(Male and Female… and… Whatever…), Hair selection, Skin Colors, Eye Colors, Hair Length… etc. Should be Part and Parcel to The Process of CUSTOMER/Player Character Creation. Me Personally, I Don’t Care if Someone wants to play as a Damned M-1 Abrams Main Battle Tank… That is their Prerogative, BUT, Let’s Put Sliders in where they can have the greenest Tank, Or the Longest Cannon Barrel that they Want… (No Double Entendre Meant here.) Anyways… The Point Being, i agree with you. The Girls Should Look Like Girls. (Sorry if my way of speaking is abrasive, Just an Old Gunnery Sergeant Here.) Y’all have a Good One. I’m Back to my Pitiful looking Guy in New World.
While I agree that the character customization is very poor and that more female customization options would be fine (even if they apply to men and women as is the case with facial hair), I don’t share the idea of armor, most of them look fine, the only ones that look unisex are the heavy armor, but that’s normal, they’re designed to reflect attacks, not to stylize the figure. Even today, men and women wear heavy armor that makes it almost impossible to tell what’s underneath.
your initiate reply, was a bit confusing, i am glad you clarified. no i didn’t think you were a jerk and i thought you were edging towards humour.
sliders are iffy, not because i don’t think they can work in a pvp game… but because of the current selection we have.
they’re actually adjusting that in some militaries, if they haven’t already for better fits.
when they have pauldrons like they do int the game, helms with blocked vision, and other helms with lovely pretty bits attached to guide whever weapon directly to the brainpan… realism is no longer 100% required and leaves room for… making the armours fit the female form.
You ppl need to chill quite a bit. If females are “feminine” then it’s the Barbie issue of “unreachable standards from patriarchy”, if females are less doll-like the issue becomes “omg washed out males!!!1!1!one!1!oneone!!”
The only thing that this game misses is a skin preview on shop items for female characters that can be easily implemented and maybe a bit different fitting for gear but really minimal.
same model, same animations, same stances… all they did was reskin it… so yeah it really is a washed out male as you put it.
They say nothing in game about those being male or female or unisex.
The ones you claim as female have a level requirement of 5, the other 2 are level requirement of 40
The difference between the level 40 ones are 1 is heavy on mdef the other is more balanced.
Either a troll or they just didnt notice, sadly its hard to say which it is.
Mhm… I like where you are coming from. Better to say I hate you rather changes the characters instead of fixing the games fundamentals… lets aim to fix the basics and not worry about the little things that you become blind to over a month…
I mean this thread can be made with the same points except interchange female skeleton with fat body skeleton, just superficial changes that don’t fundamentally matter to the games base integrity. I’m all for making a better customization system, just seems like there’s bigger fish atm.
