So I’m not sure if I’m the only one disappointed here but I was really hoping that Brimstone would have a bunch of Latin and Egyptian inscriptions seeing as that is the theme of the area. To me it makes no sense that there are just none to be found considering that they loved to record their deeds and triumphs. I think it definitely would have made the area a lot more interesting.
But as I was going through the main quest, right at the very end there is in fact a tomb that is really decorated with hieroglyph and I was excited to see it.
So I took a look to see if AGS possibly consulted with someone to create something specific which related to the quest. After transliterating and translating a few words I had discovered that in fact it had zero to do with the tomb or quest and that AGS just did a google search and copy pasted a random inscription to make it look fancy. And since it was on the public domain they could use it for free ![]()
So for anyone interested in what it is and what it says it is a part of the stele of ankh-ef-en-khonsu https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stele_of_Ankh-ef-en-Khonsu
They have copied lines but if the lines aren’t long enough they just copy pasted some random parts to fill it at the beginning and end to make it look good ![]()
I just think it was such a missed opportunity to work with some experts and create their own messages which related to the lore in game. That would have been amazing.
