OMG the PvP hate is real.
Chill out, guys, there’s room for everyone.
No need to be polarizing in 2022

Sorry darling but no matter how badly you wish it it doesn’t make it true. There are very few 'pvp mmorog’s because they next to never last. An extreme majority of mmo players are completely disinterested in pvp. This was not marketed as a pvp game. That direction was 100% turned after it became clear it simply would not work.
Need both sweetheart.
This was absolutely marketed as a PvP game, “princess”. Wars and territory control in particular were big parts of their marketing.
I don’t wish it to be true, it is true. MMO is a very wide genre with a lot of different games. There are plenty of MMOs that are primarily PvP or even exclusively PvP (Planetside, for instance,) although they may not live up to your royal heinous’ idea of what an MMO is. Most of the top successful MMOs also have PvP as well (see WoW and GW2,) even if it isn’t the primary focus.
The ones that don’t typically do well are full loot, “hardcore” PvP - but even then there are examples like Rust.
Actually, in general, the wide majority of money isn’t in MMOs period.
The majority of the very top selling games on Steam were primarily PvP releases (although the only MMO on that list was this game.)
If you wanna talk about the most revenue though, you have to look at mobile (Honor of Kings - over $13 billion in lifetime revenue.)
Any content that has been released likely was in development long long before the game went live.
They need both
I bought it because it was marketed as a pve game.
Next.
I think pvp MMO’ers need to face the fact that there are many more pve MMO’ers than pvp types. If you want a big budget pvp experience, you’re gonna need the pve crowd. They’re the ones who are gonna keep the game afloat. If you want a purely pvp experience, you’re gonna have to expect to get into small niche MMOs (which is perfectly ok).
There are absolutely zero…read that again… zero ‘mainly’ pvp focused mmorpg that are popular and anything but a niche genre. Calling rust a ‘mmo’ is like calling a dead goat lively. The same goes for Planetside with their possibly 5k active players… good lord dude get a fucking grip! Still no matter how much you wish it it still doesn’t make it true! And no New World was not marketed as a ‘pvp game’ period!
To add to that, mortal online’s best day was 1000 players. 1/1000th of NW best day, let alone other long-standing, long-grown games.
Sure, let’s completely ignore the whole 3 way faction war and territory control that effects the whole game.
The only players scared to death are the pure PvEers afraid of a little player vs player action. BTW most of us play pure PvP games on the side.
PvP players make their own content. Just look at PvP related threads on this forum.
What a smug comment. Thanks for grouping all us pvp players into the group who likes to grief other players. Incredibly pretentious of you.
Lol @ CoD being more skill based. I take it you haven’t ran in a war, outpost rush, or even flagged lol.
It’s both, if you didn’t do your research you deserve to lose your money. Next.
I dont remember replying to you there beta. Thanks for your $40!
Because the video quality and cancel generation
, That s the main reason
They don t want to see and understand or can t understand or see that the back bones of New World Is PVP !
So they are turning New World into a gigantic carebear fiesta without thinking of everything New World has lost in game, i have so much to say, but i ll stay silent cuz that s what we do in these dark times :x
I think you are the one that seriously needs to get a grip. I can’t even believe the arguments you are making are genuine, because they are such absurd nonsense.
I imagine Black Desert Online is not an MMO either since it also primarily PvP (you certainly can’t choose to opt out of it.) If has a daily average of 22k players on Steam alone (and plenty of their population doesn’t play in Steam so they aren’t counted.)
And Rust is definitely a type of MMO. Or maybe you should give us all what your personal definition of an MMO actually is.
I think OP is just really bad at FPS games lmfao.
