Why are we nerfing musket?

I mean look at this. Not only does he half me with two shots, but look at all of this open space between me and this guy. What exactly is the right thing to do in this situation? If he hadn’t let me go because of that beautiful jav, I literally would’ve had to sit there until he got bored or try to dodge from skinny tree to skinny tree like 30m away. The guy is too far for me to even see when he ADS’ to even dream of being able to predict a shot. Hell I couldn’t even see the guys nameplate until I hit him.

So dumb.

I assume you’re running high damage attribute low con right?

That’s the whole thing essentially. There is nothing stopping players from flanking and abusing the musket’s FoV restriction when firing. Yet many do, so I have to wonder exactly which servers have musket “dominance” because matches won are almost always exclusively decided on which side has the most frontline bodies. There’s also nothing stopping a player from shooting from both the rock left of that location or behind the stone structure next to the rock from the left as well.

There is literally Nothing stopping people from killing a juicy, stationary, in the open, 5 con fish other than themselves. I will however give some benefit of the doubt as this game’s gear logic is a tad bit bonkers sometimes.

That’s well and good on a solo musket, but muskets and bows tend to gravitate toward each other and as soon as you attack one all of the sudden you have tracers from 3 other angles coming at you.

That’s 3 people wasting time on you & not on your healers, and other squishies. Even less threatening when you have ample cover which the rock, the forts & some structures do very much provide. Let alone if you’re carrying a shield which easily makes their shots useless. More so if you’re a bow user considering just how much haste options the weapon has.

The fun way (at least for me) is to come up behind one n use clear out sending them right into the pool of melee sharks they’re so very scared of :+1:

Bro that’s a sick javelin throw! I do notice that when you popped the regen pot you don’t have “Purifying toast” which actually removes powderburn once keen jag is done.

Either it removes the powder burn or the slow on you. It makes a night and day diff :smiley:

But otherwise, I wouldn’t consider going through that field cause that’s open af and that’s a map issue, not a weapon issue.

Musket needs a rework…
It must be usable in dungeons and not toxic in OPR.
Give Musket players respects they demand not the current Cheater status they having due to the abuse possible on the weapon.

i dissagree. hitscan on that range is an issue. if you cant see that, ur biased.
you yourself listed all the ranged skills that you compared to musket shots, while not a single one of them is as easy to hit as musket shots. even if you could hit a stationary musket with lets say a throw hatchet, one throw is the only thing you’ll hit. then the musket can proceed to shoot you with you having no chance to shoot back.

the only practical counter are cheesy stunlock oneshot builds coming from an dead angle like @Pointe said.

That statement has about as much stability as aimbot claims against every single musket player.

Hitscan still needs to Hit.
Even if it hits depending on how you set your load out it will hit hard or softly.

You make it sound like I’d sit there in the open after launching an attack. Nor would it be “1 throw” it would be a series of throws.

If you believe that is the one and only counter, than that’s all that will work for you.
I disagree and will continue using what works for me.

I will not however join the side of hard nerfing weapons just because it “Kills me” or “I can’t Kill” like the bulk of the forum preaches.

Aimbot functions on a vast variety of games regardless of “hitscan” or “projectile” This is a reality anti-musket people need to accept.

That guy pretty much tries to pull off a conversational bullying tactic that traps people with his “So you’re saying” and starts trying to get you to answer his leading questions with yes or no answers, which only works on snowflakes. I already called him out for it lmao, he straight up lost that debate.

God this meta with the bows in war made me sad. 4 bows and a healer roaming group. Ew They invalidate any Musketwargroup.
Try to dodge 4 arrows every 0.7 second with their fire rate youd need at least 800 stamina

Musket isn’t necessarily toxic individually…it’s when you have coordinated players who all target the same person. Rule #1 of making a fun game is to give players agency in the game to actually play it, which muskets violate in spades by using “god mode” to hit people from long range. You know there is a fundamental problem when the only true counter to a weapon is the same weapon.

If you can’t even answer a question that requires you to provide “details” and an actual “constructive” response then it’s not even worth taking your feedback in any discussion.

You are free to disagree. Thats not even the issue. Hitscan needs to hit yes. But a 100m hitscan that has no pattern, projectile and little to no hint to succesfully dodge it except hiding in FoV, which works against any other range weapon that you also have way easier time eyeframing.

im not doing that either, otherwise i’d be here asking for GA/WH nerfs since thats what kills me most in wars.

im no expert on aimbots in any game so that statement could be true or wrong, not that it matters tho, since you missed my original point :person_shrugging:
