I don’t understand the thinking here. It’s not building excitement. Make the entire month 3x XP for character levelling. Toss in this silly 2x weapon XP along the way.
You need NEW players to BUY the game and play. You have no sustainable income stream right now. This approach isn’t enticing for that population. I doubt the 16k players online right now will be too excited either.
I shudder to think how much money in dev & support costs this game is burning through right now, with very little new income. This doesn’t seem like a sustainable model, regardless of what the parent company is worth.
