Why attribute stats on gear?

I know that having attribute stats on gear like STR or DEX is a known thing in MMOs.
But wouldn’t it be much easier to just leave them out entirely and just have all stats assigned?

I mean this game has a lot of gear variety because of perks already anyways, not having those attributes on gear would make it much more managable to plan your gearsets and farm legendary sets without thinking about their attribute values

I disagree, as an online ragnarok player we had this a lot and it didn’t make the game bad.
what I advocate is to limit all stats to no more than 300 points, regardless of the equipment you have
