Well, try to see if you got an anchor attached to your back might be the issue
we can’t play outpost and we don’t have anything to doing now is more important from swimming
ahah i never noticed this they need to add flying bugs and birds and stuff
You are carrying 1k gold coins. Of course you dont swim.
lmao what? Yes it does. It’s an open-source platform and you can literally view the function:
The Transform component controls the translation, rotation, and scale information of an entity in the 3D world. When you create an entity in Lumberyard Editor, the Transform component is automatically added. The translation is the coordinate location (x, y, and z axes) of the entity. The rotation is the degree in which the entity is rotated around its center. The scale is the dimension of the entity in comparison to its original size.
Lumberyard is also VR compatible which alone answers the question.
The engine has been adopted by a couple other game developers. No one would use a 3D engine that didn’t support a z-axis.
They just haven’t implemented swimming.
One of the demo project for Lumberyard is a submarine game
100% it has Z axis
I mean the boss at the end of Starstone Barrows has an entire portion of the fight that involves the Z axis. Heavily.
It can be hit mid-air.
But pop off I guess.
At the end of the day it’s still lazy as hell development.
No swimming in a game the takes place on an island in the ocean.
wasnt invented yet
Then I stand corrected. The engine has the feature, the devs are just too incompetent to utilize it thoroughly. Not sure how that’s much better, but meh.
You’re absolutely spot on though.
The laziness is still worrying.
Not as much as an engine that doesn’t support it in 2021.
But it’s still concerning.
Aeternum does weird things with gravity. The rocks float, fall damage can’t kill you, people aren’t buoyant in water…
This is the most constructive criticism of New World I’ve read yet…

I also use magic, die multiple times, gave up my soul to save the world, and fall from 80 feet in the air without injuring myself beyond the impact of a hard punch.
You have two unrealistic options: you can swim in armour or you can’t swim. They chose the latter.
You’re right that they’re just lazy. Hopefully they add swimming because it’s honestly embarrassing.
I just wish they would go fully Pirates of the Carribian style and remove the breath meter too.
Anyone that can swim is a corrupted witch and we will burn them at the stake.
Removing the ability to drown would be nice too. They ignored the entirety of being able to swim, while simultaneously adding in all the detriment of swimming. If I kill something in the water, it starts getting really dicey when I try to skin it without drowning.
i just imagine hero with full equip swimming :)))))
Yeah it’s dumb. You run out of air extremely fast and it’s legit possible to drown in 5 feet of water.
