That isnāt the issue here. The player playing harder/grinding harder is complaining that he should not have been subjected to that torture in the first place.
Letās put it this way. Everyone wants to be first. But the āfirstā just wants it to end, since he has already accomplished that chase and achieved first.
Sure you may think it is an endless race. Until AGS actually promised rewards for being first. So while the player in pursuit is thankful for the extension, the player defending the title is not.
If this was a fight, then the title holder needs to fend off multiple pursuers, while the pursuers only need to challenge 1 person above them.
Then apply this same logic to position 2nd, 3rd, 4th and so on where the rewards are applicable. Eventually it adds up and is pretty chaotic if there are ties in between.
Then in game bugs, crashes, internet problems, computer problems, real life problems and worst of all health problems exacerbate the frustrations. Everything adds up and leads to this thread.
While many of you consider the people complaining about this the āvocal minorityā and write them off, consider who they are on your server.
If the top 10 players on my server on every leaderboard decided to quit because of this ridiculously unprofessional and disrespectful treatment by AGS, the gameās average population would drop by over 50%. This is in a server that already can barely sustain a single OPR game for a few hours a day. These are the players keeping the game alive and theyāre being punished for it.
Iām saying top 10 players on every leaderboard combined makes up 50% of the average concurrent player base on my server, which currently averages around 300 players. Iām not saying that people who arenāt on the boards would quit because of the people who are. That wouldnāt make any sense. Iām saying that the people who arenāt on the boards make up the minority of the average activity on the server.
Exactly, i legitimately cant fathom how anyone gets so bent out of shape over some silly pixels on a screen. There is no way they can navigate real life if this is a crisis for them.
Such a bad take. Ultimately weāre all taking time to write things up here on the forums for a game, which means a majority of us are very invested into that game and it means something. Trying to downplay other peopleās reactions by saying āitās just a gameā just because you yourself donāt care too much shows a major lack of empathy for the ones that obviously do.
If somebody is into cars and they just had an accident, are you gonna say āitās just a carā? Or if somebodyās dog dies, are you gonna say āitās just a dogā? You wouldnāt, so stop projecting your own lack of passion onto others.
You have very skewed priorities. Since when does a pets death or a risk of serious bodily harm even come close to some silly video game? I like games, but i also recognize that it is just a GAME. Some of you think it really affects your life. You need some perspective. Nothing that happens in this game is a big deal or anything to stress over. Maybe when you get some real life experience you and others will realize that. Maybe not.
Agree 100%⦠worst AGS in the gaming development⦠how can the delay and delay the end of leadboard its and event with a timer they are not even good to respect the dates⦠best option was and is to stop the leadboard counting⦠but im sure they are lazy fck to do something extra on them knowledge
I was 51 on the leaderboards Wednesday night. 5 away from 50. It just didnāt look like i was gong to get inside the top 50 for OPR. So i stopped because the patch was the next day. Then it didnāt come out. If i would have kept the same pace i would have entered the top 50 EASILY. People below me kept on grinding and made it. It sucks, but itās not the end of the world. Stop treating the game like itās a job.
Hard Blow. Gonna think about that when Iām partying with my Friends, have Dinner with my Girlfriend or spend some of my hard earned money from my well-paid Job on Amazon.com.
I think you need some perspective as you donāt seem to be able to grasp the concept that somebody can have a great life and still enjoy Video Games. And yes, some of us are more dedicated to the game than others, some of us spend more time in the game than others and some of us have been sacrificing other things to be able to push the leaderboards. And itās just not okay to disrespect their time investment by pushing them back over and over.
In all honesty, It literally doesnāt matter what your opinion on the matter is if youāre not part of that group. Itās objectively not okay and I think everybody should be able to see why from the perspective of people that are affected by this.
If Iām taking days off to engage in X, and X doesnāt happen, then iām probably gonna be frustrated. Whether that X is some sports event, a video game release, a vacation or whatever. Ya, thereās more important stuff than just recreational joy, no one is debating that. But if you apply that logic to video games, you have to apply it to ALL recreational activities the same - theyāre not really important in the long run, right? So, from now on youāre no longer allowed to complain about flight cancellations, delays, friends canceling plans last minute, refs making bad calls on your favorite sports events, etc. Sounds good?
Cause if you canāt guarantee that, you should probably emphasize with these folks at least a tiny little bit.
