A Greatsword has a root through an AOE Dash while with the IG you have to hit an Ice Storm + heavy attack.
All melee weapons can very easily pull out of the Ice shower. Additionally, all melee attacks slow just like that.
Where is the point of this IG skills?
As a main IG/Rapier player I feel pretty screwed.
Make IG again what it was ment to be - a utility weapon!
IG has everything you could want.

as i said “this slows” and “roots” are worse than any slows and roots melee dps weapons have xD i mean even melee auto attacks slows more than IG skills xD

Ice spikes can still triple hit and the damage can still be pretty huge tbh. But that’s the only hard hitting skill it has.
No. A root is a root.
Ice shower roots for 1 sec + 50% slow(these are unconditional) + a potential other 1 sec root from a heavy attack inconsistent as that may be.
Relentless rush slows 20% and roots for 1 sec if used from onslaught stance.
Void gauntlet has the actual longest root on any weapon.

yeah and some roots are easier to apply than others - guess what IG the utility weapon herself does not have the best utility.
It’s s u p e r easy to apply an ice shower, and an. Ice storm. Actually the only thing that isn’t easy to apply on an IG is the rooting heavy and a really good ice spike, which is why people tend to use it at like point blank range It’s just easier that way.
U know whats easier than that? Autohitting with any melee weapon and slow the shit out or them. Or dasing with a GS. Impossible to to not root anyone with it. I could continue… i dont say IG is bad, all i say is that IG should have more utility than a melee weapon. IG does less dmg anyway.
Oh I wasn’t aware that I could swing my rapier from 20m away and hit a clump of people with it 
. It will always be inherently easier to apply anything with ranged than melee, because melee requires one to close the gap on someone first.
But I do agree that melee is in a really strong place right now.
Melee weapons in general have more utility than ranged, exception being the void gauntlet and the one-trick pony that is ice showers
